Will There Be a Season 5 of Mayor of Kingstown?
Paramount+ has not yet renewed Mayor of Kingstown for a fifth season, but fans shouldn’t lose hope just yet. The streamer hasn’t canceled the series either, meaning Jeremy Renner’s gritty crime drama still has a future on the table. Historically, Paramount+ takes its time making renewal calls for this show. Season 1 ended in January 2022 and got renewed three weeks later, while Season 3 took about five months before confirmation came in. One of the fans shared on X that Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 has concluded, urging Paramount+ to renew the show for a fifth season.
The pattern continued with Season 4, which wrapped in August 2024 and didn’t receive its renewal until mid-December. So even if there’s radio silence right now, it’s nothing new. Co-creators Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon have already mapped the story far beyond Season 5, with Dillon revealing that Sheridan has plans reaching all the way through Season 7, including the ending he envisioned some 15 years ago.
Dillon told Screen Rant that Sheridan knew from the start how Mayor of Kingstown would unfold, right down to where Mike McLusky’s story would land in Season 7, Episode 10. That foresight hints at a solid creative direction, which usually bodes well for renewal chances.
With Season 4 earning strong reactions from both fans and critics and Jeremy Renner’s comeback continuing to draw attention, the odds seem good that Paramount+ will want more. For now, viewers might need a little patience before hearing official word, but given the show’s momentum and Sheridan’s reputation for long-game storytelling, a fifth season feels more like a waiting game than a question mark.
