Will There Be a Season 6 of Slow Horses? Everything We Know So Far

Will There Be a Season 6 of Slow Horses?

Apple TV Plus has officially renewed Slow Horses for season 6, and even added a season 7 for good measure. Some fans guessed it was coming; the last episode of season 5 left a bunch of loose ends, and they don’t usually tie things up just to call it quits. I remember texting my friend after the S5 finale dropped, and her first reply was: “Well, they’ve got to keep going Lamb’s still not fired.” It’s that kind of show. Season 6 is coming and it’s not a rumor, it’s real news.

The new season was greenlit even before season 5 premiered. It’s kind of wild Apple TV seems to have real faith in the show, and honestly, with the way Gary Oldman throws himself into Jackson Lamb’s rumpled trenchcoat, who can blame them? Production for the sixth season finished up in the middle of 2025, so things are moving right along. I’ve seen speculation that it could drop as soon as spring 2026, but most sources say to look out for a fall or winter 2026 premiere. Have to admit, the wait is a pain, but it’s better than watching them rush out a half-cooked season just to fill a slot.

As for the story, yep, it’s all based on Mick Herron’s books. Season 6 is tackling both Joe Country and Slough House. That means more botched operations, more bleak office humor, and more Lamb one-liners. The official teaser supposedly hints at something big: apparently, Slough House itself goes AWOL, and some identities get wiped. Don’t know about you, but I’m predicting at least one blown safe house, two angry phone calls from Diana Taverner, and a good chunk of running in the rain. Or at the very least, some hiding in a pub bathroom. Wouldn’t put it past them.

The returning cast includes Gary Oldman, and you can expect plenty of familiar faces. They’re keeping some things close to the vest, but the production team says the show is sticking to its signature "high-stakes but scruffy" tone. Someone I work with claims he saw Hugo Weaving on set this summer. Here’s hoping that’s true, because that would make for one weirdly perfect villain turn.

Yes, Slow Horses is absolutely back for a sixth season. Episodes will land on Apple TV+, same as always. The timeline’s not exactly clear, but fans shouldn’t worry the show’s not falling off a cliff anytime soon. If you’re keen on more cynical British spies and delightfully miserable office banter, there’s plenty still waiting in the wings. Not everything in TV lands with this kind of staying power, especially nowadays.
