Will There Be an Irish Blood Season 2? Latest Updates & Cast News

Will There Be An Irish Blood Season 2?

Irish Blood is getting a second season and, honestly, I’m relieved because leaving folks on a cliffhanger is downright cruel. The renewal just dropped (like, finale-day dropped), so if you were losing sleep and pacing your living room, wondering whether Fiona Fox’s wild Irish adventure would actually continue, you can breathe easy. Acorn TV listened, and apparently, a whole lot of us watched, because this show became the most-watched premiere in their history and sent their subscription sign-ups through the roof. I’m always a little skeptical when anything claims “#1 of all time,” but by the looks of it, viewers (not just me!) got seriously hooked.

Season 1 wrapped up with so many loose threads that my own attempt at predicting the next chapter could only be described as “generously optimistic.” Fiona (Alicia Silverstone, who’s having a real renaissance lately) spent the first season tangled up in family lies and Irish countryside drama which, weirdly, gave me flashbacks to that time my cousin tried to resolve a family feud with nothing but emotional honesty and several rounds at the local pub. It…did not go well. But Fiona is a bit more composed under pressure, which probably explains why viewers keep rooting for her.

The official word? Season 2 is already set to roll into production in Ireland at the start of 2026, sticking to the successful recipe: six hour-long episodes. Acorn TV is keeping plot details locked up tighter than my gran’s secret soda bread recipe, but Silverstone did hint she’ll be diving even deeper into Fiona’s emotional journey, identity struggles, and all those gnarly family secrets that just keep multiplying. So if you’re craving answers, what REALLY happened to Fiona’s dad, can she build a life in Ireland, will her mom ever forgive anyone, and what’s Tess the assistant going to get up to, those are all still on the table.

There’s a good chance you were part of the fandom desperately hitting “next episode” for closure, but I’ve heard from several friends (and at least one barista who thinks Fiona is just “vibe goals”) that the show’s mix of mystery, heart, and Irish scenery sold them before episode two even wrapped. Not every crime drama gets this kind of love, and I get it, the emotional twists, the brooding landscapes, the characters who actually feel like someone’s weird relatives, that’s why you tune in. Or at least, why I do.

It’s worth mentioning: nobody’s saying yet when Season 2 will actually air, and the trailers are noticeably absent, so we’ll all have to settle for anticipation. On the cast front, Silverstone’s return is confirmed, but the rest of the lineup is still hush-hush. If they do drop a new trailer, you can bet social media will be awash with conspiracy theories, wild guesses, and at least one post begging for more “dark intrigue and Irish gin.” If you’re a completionist, keep an eye out for returning faces: Jason O’Mara, Wendy Crewson, Ruth Codd, and the crew made the first season sing.

So, will there be an Irish Blood Season 2? Absolutely. The story isn’t over, and Fiona Fox’s journey through heartbreak, family drama, and Irish mystery is only just beginning. Personally, I’m all in. Let’s come back when the next batch of episodes finally lands on Acorn TV, and see if those wild cliffhangers actually get some closure this time around.
