WoW EU Maintenance: Check WoW EU Server Status

Blizzard recently dropped some unexpected news for European World of Warcraft players. On Tuesday, December 2nd, they announced an extended maintenance period, starting at 7:00 AM PST (that’s 3:00 AM CET for EU servers). The maintenance was originally planned as a typical update window, but it quickly turned into something much more significant.  Wowhead (@Wowhead) shared on X that Blizzard has announced an 8-hour extended maintenance for Tuesday, December 2nd, starting at 7:00 am PST (December 3rd at 3:00 am CET for EU servers).

In a rather surprising move, Blizzard announced that it would be discontinuing access to Wowhead and other ZAM Network sites for users in certain regions. They cited the cost of maintaining services versus the number of visitors from specific areas as the reason for the tough decision. Unfortunately, this is an indefinite action, and while it’s not tied to geopolitical issues, it still left many players in the EU feeling frustrated.

On the bright side, there’s a silver lining for fans of the game. The extended maintenance wasn’t just about servers being down it was actually setting the stage for Patch 11.2.7 and the highly anticipated Player Housing feature to go live on the NA realms. The servers were down for a good chunk of time, but it turns out it was all part of getting things prepped for the big update. Wowhead (@Wowhead) shared on X that the extended maintenance was a bait, as Patch 11.2.7 and Player Housing are now live on NA realms!

If you're a Premium subscriber or have ongoing automatic renewals with Wowhead, Blizzard’s got you covered. They’ve assured players that they will be canceling renewals and issuing refunds to anyone affected. You can reach out to their support team at [email protected] for assistance.

In the meantime, if you're experiencing server issues or can't access the sites, don’t panic; maintenance is still underway. Just be patient as Blizzard works behind the scenes to improve the game and bring new features to the table. Stay tuned for updates, and as always, happy gaming.
