2026 Ducati Monster: Lighter, More Powerful, and Packed with Smart Tech

2026 Ducati Monster

The 2026 Ducati Monster is all about a new engine and lighter frame. Power jumps out at you. It runs an 890cc V2 engine. That’s different from the old 937cc. The new motor makes about 110 horsepower at 9,000 rpm. You get 67 pound feet of torque at 7,250 rpm.

Most of the torque is there from low revs up, so the bike pulls well in the city or on the highway.

The engine got lighter. Ducati swapped variable valve timing in, too. That gives smoother power. You don’t feel a sudden surge. The engine is quieter and easier to handle. Maintenance is easier. Valve checks come up only every 45,000 km. That’s a lot fewer shop visits.

The frame bolts straight to the engine now. It’s aluminum. That cuts weight. Ducati says the whole bike weighs 386 pounds with no fuel. It’s lighter than the old one. The swingarm is double-sided and copies the design of Ducati’s Panigale V4. That means it’s stronger and stiffer, but it still keeps its classic Monster look.

Ride comfort changed. The Monster’s seat sits lower and feels narrower. You can drop it to about 31 inches if you swap out the seat. The handlebar sits a bit higher and farther forward. That helps riders feel relaxed but in control.

You still get sharp steering. The wheelbase is 58.7 inches. The rake is 23.3 degrees, and you get a trail of 3.6 inches. All that helps cornering. The front and rear suspension is Showa. Up front, you get a 43 mm fork, and out back, the shock lets you change preload. You get around 5 inches of travel for both ends.

When you brake, it’s strong. Dual 320 mm Brembo brakes up front. Cornering ABS is standard. Rear brake is single 245 mm disc with ABS, too. Tires use Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV rubber. These grip hard in dry and wet conditions.

Technology got better. The Monster now has four riding modes: Sport, Road, Urban, Wet. There’s traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control. You get Ducati Quick Shift, too, which helps when changing gears without messing with the clutch.
A new five-inch TFT dash sits in the cockpit. It’s full color. Turn-by-turn navigation is built in. There’s USB charging and a lap timer if you want to track your rides.

Styling leans old school Monster but sharper. The tank and tail look tight. Headlight keeps its classic round shape. It’s simple and bold. LED lighting is all around. The Monster+ adds a small windscreen and passenger seat cover now as standard.

Compared to older Monsters, this new model is more nimble, lighter, and more powerful, with smart tech. It’s easier to ride, cheaper to maintain, and packs way more rider aids than the last version.
