The app itself loads, but matchmaking doesn’t connect, and league rankings refuse to update at all. I noticed it when I tried checking my Phase 1 rank, the screen just froze and dumped me back to the title. Thought my app glitched, restarted twice, and even switched from Wi-Fi to mobile data. No luck.
What’s Happening Right Now?
Right now, matchmaking and ranking updates are down, while login and menu navigation still work fine. When I tried loading my League screen, it just said “Server Maintenance: Please Try Again Later.” I first saw it, but I assumed my internet was lagging. Then Reddit and X were full of other players with the same issue, same message, same timing. Konami’s official site later confirmed that there were issues with League Phase 1 rankings, reward distribution, and badges earlier today, and they rolled out a fix during maintenance.
If you already earned a Phase 1 badge or rewards but didn’t receive them, Konami says those have now been reissued correctly, and affected players also got 10,000 GP as compensation. The weird part is that the old badge might still appear on your profile unless you manually replace it, so even post-update, a few things still look glitchy. On X, eFootball (@play_eFootball) teased an exciting update, announcing that after maintenance on October 16th, 11 national team stars who delivered standout performances for their countries will be featured in the game.
When eFootball Might Be Back
As of now, there’s no official end time posted on Konami’s Twitter or the eFootball website. Usually, their Thursday maintenance wraps up within a couple of hours, but there’s no guarantee. Based on past patterns, things might resume by early evening, maybe around 5 to 6 PM IST, but again, that’s just speculation. League rankings also might not refresh instantly even after servers return, so expect a short delay before you see your correct rank.
What You Can Do Now?
Honestly, not much besides waiting this one out. You can still browse menus or check your team setup, but don’t start matchmaking while servers are unstable you’ll just get kicked back to the login screen.
