Ghost of Yotei Pre Order: Bonuses, Editions, and Everything You Need to Know

Ghost of Yotei Pre Order

Pre-ordering Ghost of Yotei is suddenly the thing every PlayStation 5 owner seems to be doing, and yes, it’s live right now—unless you’re reading this in 2024, in which case you might be having a premonition instead. Anyway, the game officially lands on October 2, 2025, and those Collector’s Editions? They’re already flying off virtual shelves, at least at PlayStation Direct. For $249.99 (or local equivalent—wallet ouch), you get an actual replica of the Atsu Ghost mask, sash, tsuba, paper ginkgo tree, art cards, and even a little game-within-the-game, Zeni Hajiki, complete with its own pouch of coins.

PlayStation (@PlayStation) announced on Twitter that Ghost of Yōtei will launch in just four weeks, with pre-orders now open for the Limited Edition PS5 bundle and accessories.

Not to mention digital goodies like the Snake Armor, deluxe horse, and a set of six flashy avatars, plus the core game itself. If you don’t need all the props for your future cosplay TikToks, the standard edition is $69.99 and, honestly, comes with the same digital mask and avatar set just for preordering.

There’s no early access—bit of a letdown, but at least you won’t feel left behind if you skipped the extra loot. If you’re hardware-obsessed (no shame), you probably saw the snazzy Ghost of Yotei PS5 bundles: black or gold ink hand-brushed faceplates, limited edition DualSense controllers, and matching PS5 covers.

Those started preorders on September 4 and, trust me, if you want one, don’t hesitate—they’re as elusive as free game subscriptions. All preorders are up at PlayStation Direct, Amazon, Walmart, and basically wherever you’d expect, but some editions (like the black bundle) are PlayStation exclusives. Oh, and by the way, it’s only on PS5 at launch, as Sucker Punch is loyal to Sony like a Shiba Inu to its owner.

Word is, a PC version might show up a year or two later, but don’t hold your breath. Personal opinion? If you ever dreamed of wielding a tsuba or felt a bit too much like Jin Sakai after a difficult day, this pre-order might just be the dose of vicarious, samurai-flavored revenge you need.

Just don’t expect it to come with the actual ability to swing a katana (or a pet fox, tragically). Pre-ordering a game always feels like a leap of faith, but the extras here actually feel like the kind you’ll remember. A friend of mine bought Ghost of Tsushima’s Collector’s Edition, left the mask on his shelf, and swears it judges him every time he picks up the controller for something less serious. That might be all the motivation needed to go Deluxe this time.
