Marvel Rivals Season 5 Love is a Battlefield Release Date, Trailer and New X-men Heroes Revealed

Marvel Rivals Season 5 Love is a Battlefield Release Date

Marvel Rivals Season 5 “Love is a Battlefield” releases November 14, 2025, introducing Gambit at launch and Rogue in a mid-season update. Both X-Men join the fight, confirmed and showcased in the official trailer released by NetEase Games. The cinematic debut aired November 11; patch notes followed in a Dev Vision blog posted the same day. No delays Season 5 is on track for this Thursday. On X, @MarvelRivals announced that Marvel Rivals Season 5 will launch on November 14 UTC.

Marvel Rivals Season 5 Trailer

Official cinematic trailer dropped November 11, 2025, viewable on NetEase’s YouTube and Marvel Rivals site. The trailer showcases Gambit’s explosive card kit at 0:35 and teases Rogue’s power-copying mechanic at 1:21. New maps are revealed: Grand Garden (for 18v18 Conquest) and a non-combat New York Central venue for player hangouts and emotes. Magneto and Emma Frost’s wedding skins pop up at 0:56.

New X-Men Heroes Revealed

Gambit (Strategist, DPS):

  • “Charged Card” projectile burst

  • “Kinetic Vault” leap mobility

  • Ultimate: “Explosive Shuffle” AOE card scatter, knocks back targets

  • Shown at launch, kit confirmed.

Rogue (Strategist, hybrid):

  • “Power Absorption” copies a foe’s ability for 10 seconds

  • “Flight” temporarily enables aerial movement

  • “Titan’s Embrace” (supportive ult, specifics TBD)

  • Released in December, details visible in Dev Vision notes, but full kit reveal pending.

No other X-Men are fully confirmed, though Cyclops appeared for three seconds at 1:38 in the trailer, sparking speculation for Season 6.

Gambit and Rogue Join the Fight

Gambit’s kinetic-based DPS kit is a meta-shaker, with rooted combos and ranged dominance that may be overtuned for launch, depending on shield/hitbox balance. The dev blog (Dev Vision Vol. 11) notes they aimed for comic-accurate design, leaning into his “wild card” persona. Rogue’s absorption mechanic could be disruptive, copying Widow or Tank moves for short bursts.

Her relationship with Gambit has a minor gameplay synergy: two characters get a minor health buff if grouped (shown briefly in early patch notes). Devs promise “authentic voice performances” from both actors, reprising their X-Men ‘97 roles. Gambit’s kit looks powerful, risk of balance complaints. Rogue’s role will shake up comps teams lacking copy mechanics are vulnerable now.

New Content and Gameplay Features

New Maps:

  • Grand Garden (large, 18v18; hazard-free zone, symmetrical)

  • New York Central (social map, no combat, supports emotes and small events)

Gameplay Changes:

  • 18v18 Conquest game mode

  • Battle Pass overhaul: more free rewards, two premium tracks

  • Magneto, Emma Frost, Mystique skins with wedding theme

  • Balance: Sentry and Daredevil nerfs, according to patch notes

  • Bug fixes: improved performance for RTX cards, UI tweaks for hero select

  • Datamines suggest minor tweaks to PvE mode launched last season.
