VIVO S50 and S50 Pro Mini Launch Date
VIVO has confirmed the S50 series launch event for 15 December in China. The event will introduce the vivo S50 and the vivo S50 Pro mini together as part of one lineup.
The launch teaser on Chinese platforms shows the rear design and color options and makes it clear that this is a camera focused series.
Right now the launch is only confirmed for the Chinese market. Reports say that vivo may later bring the S50 series to global markets under other names such as the V70 series in India.
VIVO S50 and S50 Pro Mini Specs
The regular vivo S50 is expected to use the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip which sits just under the main 8 Gen 4 flagships in power. It should have a 6.59 inch AMOLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate, slim bezels, and a centered punch hole for the front camera.
Camera hardware is a big selling point for the S50. Leaks point to a 50 megapixel main sensor plus a 50 megapixel periscope telephoto camera that supports high zoom levels along with a 50 megapixel selfie camera.
This setup aims to give better portraits and zoom photos than many mid range rivals while keeping the phone fairly thin.
The vivo S50 Pro mini is the more powerful compact model in the series. It is tipped to run the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip which is one of the latest flagship processors from Qualcomm.
The phone uses fast LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage which should give quick app loading and smoother multitasking.
The Pro mini is expected to feature a 6.31 inch 1.5K OLED screen with 120 Hz refresh rate so it stays easier to hold than big 6.7 inch phones. VIVO is pairing this compact size with a large 6,500 mAh Blue Ocean battery plus support for 90 W wired charging and around 40 W wireless charging.
Both phones should run a recent Android version with vivo’s custom skin for China and bring an in display fingerprint sensor.
The series is also said to have strong durability with IP68 or IP69 water and dust resistance and an aluminium frame.
VIVO S50 and S50 Pro Mini Price
Official Chinese prices for vivo S50 and S50 Pro mini are not yet announced before the launch event. So current price talk comes from predictions and early listings for expected India variants.
Analysts expect the standard vivo S50 to sit in the upper mid range segment in China with different prices for 12 256 GB and 16 512 GB storage models.
For the vivo S50 Pro mini some early India focused sites list an expected price band around 41,990 rupees to 43,990 rupees for the 12 GB RAM 256 GB storage version.
These figures are only estimated placeholders and final pricing in China plus any later India or global launches could be higher or lower depending on taxes and exact configurations.
Overall the series is shaping up as a slim camera centric pair of phones with a focus on strong zoom cameras, bright high refresh OLED displays, and a powerful compact Pro mini model using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip.
