When Will the Candy Axe Come Back to Fortnite?
Candy Axe is one of those classic Christmas pickaxes that people wait for every year. It is part of the Frosty Fights set and it first showed up in the game in December 2017.
Since then it has turned into a kind of holiday tradition in the Item Shop.
Epic Games does not give exact dates for when a cosmetic will return. There is no official schedule or calendar that lists future shop rotations.
So nobody can say a precise day for the next Candy Axe release. Still you can look at past years and get a pretty solid idea of when it usually comes back.
Candy Axe is a Christmas themed harvesting tool with a candy cane look and glowing lights. The pickaxe is reactive which means the lights get brighter and more animated as you earn eliminations.
It costs 1500 V Bucks when it appears in the Item Shop. Because of the look plus the price and the limited windows it feels like a premium holiday cosmetic.
If you check tracking sites that record every Item Shop rotation you see a clear pattern.
Candy Axe tends to arrive in December during Winterfest or during the wider festive period. Then it stays for a short time and disappears again for most of the year.
That long gap is why so many players feel like they always miss it. For example Candy Axe came back during the Winterfest 2024 season.
It was available in the Item Shop around December 30 and into early January. After that it rotated out and did not show up again during the non holiday months.
Older records show similar timing with returns only near Christmas and New Year. So when will it come back next. There is no confirmed return for the current season and Epic has not announced anything.
The safest realistic answer is that Candy Axe will most likely return in a future Winterfest event around December. It could be early December mid December or closer to the end of the month but always inside that festive window.
Once Fortnite starts teasing or launching the next Winterfest keep an eye on the daily Item Shop. Check the shop at reset time or use cosmetic tracking sites such as Fortnite GG and fnbr to see when it appears.
Those sites log every rotation so you can confirm the exact day it returns. Until Epic changes how the shop works there will not be a guaranteed long term schedule for Candy Axe.
But going by the last several years the pickaxe keeps coming back during the holiday season.
