Will There Be a Season 4 of And Just Like That?
HBO Max, along with showrunner Michael Patrick King, just made it official. There won’t be a season 4. The story that began with Sex and the City in 1998 is coming to a close, with season 3 confirmed as the final chapter. King said on Instagram, “the storytelling of Sex and the City is coming to an end,” and he thanked fans for “letting these characters into their homes and hearts over the years”.
King explained in his statement that while working on the last episode, it became clear that this “might be a wonderful place to stop.” Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon all shared their reactions online; many cast members seem emotional, with Parker writing a kind of digital love letter to Carrie, fans, and New York City itself.
On Twitter, @OliLondonTV reports that HBO’s And Just Like That has been cancelled after 3 seasons. The show faced backlash from fans and critics, who blamed its “woke” content for its downfall.
And Just Like That Season 3 Ending Explained
Carrie’s story has always swerved between romance, reinvention, and friendships. Episode 10 saw her getting much closer to Duncan, finally moving beyond the “will they or won’t they” vibe. Gone are the shadow games with Aidan; Carrie’s focus turns to her writing and a new spark with Duncan. She chooses a special (and quite dramatic) Vivienne Westwood dress for a publisher’s party, which Charlotte observes “deserves to be seen”—a typical Carrie move, but the subtext is she’s embracing who she is now, not just retreading old ground.
Miranda and Steve, meanwhile, have to deal with their son Brady dropping a huge bomb—he got a woman pregnant. And Seema is, well, being Seema: accidentally killing her boyfriend’s beloved “Mother Plant” (don’t ask), thinking she’s ruined everything, but Adam comes back with propagated clippings because he’s not holding a grudge. The show stays true to its awkward, intimate relationship moments, but you sense there will be big goodbye energy in the finale.
On Twitter, @TSUpdating shares that Taylor Swift’s song “How Did It End?” is featured in the final scene of And Just Like That, Season 3, Episode 9. This marks a notable moment for Swifties and the series alike.
Where to Watch And Just Like That?
The entire series, seasons 1 through 3, is streaming on HBO Max (now just “Max” for U.S. subscribers). If you don’t have a Max subscription, you can also catch up with previous seasons on services like Prime Video for digital purchase, or stream with a NOW TV entertainment membership if you’re in the UK.
On Twitter, @AndJustLikeThat announces that Episode 10 of the series is now available for streaming on @StreamOnMax.
And Just Like That
The show was developed by Michael Patrick King as a straight-to-series order for HBO Max, and it acts as a revival/sequel to Sex and the City, itself based on Candace Bushnell’s book and columns.
You’ll find episode guides, cast details (Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis, and the new faces like Sarita Choudhury and Nicole Ari Parker), critical reception, and how the revival came about after a canceled third SATC film.
Don’t expect Kim Cattrall (Samantha) as a regular, though; her absence has been a running discussion since season 1. . Some critics think the show never quite recaptured the lightning-in-a-bottle magic of the original series, but others say it’s added honesty and personal growth—at least for the main characters.
