Age Limit: Candidate should have 18 to 25 years of age as on 01-01-2013.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess Degree for Category I posts, Matriculation for Category II posts, 10th pass or ITI or equivalent for Category III posts from a recognized University with relevant sports qualification for all the posts.
Examination Fee: Candidates need to pay the fee in form of Postal Order of Rs. 60/- for the post with GP Rs. 2400/2800/- , Rs. 40/- for the post with GP Rs. 1900/2000/- and GP Rs. 1800/- should be sent along with the application payable only at GPO/Kolkata. Fee is not applicable for SC/ST, Women, Minority& Economically Backward Class Candidates.
Selection Process: Selection will be done on the basis of performance in trial and interview.
How to Apply: Eligible candidates need to download application format available in the notification, fill it with all mandatory details, attach photograph, attest signature, super scribe ‘Application for Sports Quota’ on the envelope and send it along with IPO and copies of all relevant certificates attested by Gazetted Officer, to the Chief Personnel Officer, Eastern Railway Headquarters, ERSA office, 17, Netaji Subhas Road, Fairlie Place, Kolkata-700001 on or before 30-01-2013.
Last Date for Receipt of Application: 30-01-2013.

As per the notification the candidate who possess Matriculation (Matriculate or 10th Class in 10+2 examination system) with minimum 50% Marks and having ITI passed Certificate Affiliated to NCVT compulsory in relevant Trade are eligible to apply for the apprenticeship in Eastern Railway.
sir i have passed ITI FITTER with 70% mark,, but cannot get my NCVT certificate can i apply apprenticeship
