AAI FIU operates four aircraft (Dornier Do-228, SKA B-350, SKA B-360) equipped with Fully Automatic Flight Inspection System (AFIS) for flight calibration services of CNS facilities such as ILS (up to Cat-III), VOR, DME, NDB, VGSI, RADAR, GBAS/RNAV/RNP/LPV procedures, ADS-B etc.

1. Educational Qualification & License Requirements

Instructions & Terms for AAI Co-Pilot (P2) 2026
- Contract period is 3 years, extendable for another 2 years (year-on-year basis) subject to satisfactory performance and mutual consent.
- Annual increment of 5% may be allowed on the negotiable monthly package.
- During training period, stipend of Rs. 50,000 per month will be paid; full remuneration starts from commencement of supervisor line flying (SLF).
- Aviation Personal Accident (PA) / Loss of License (LOL) insurance premium will be borne by AAI as per guidelines, with current cover of Rs. 50 lakhs each.
- Co-Pilot must make himself/herself available for license and medical renewals, IR/PPC and simulator checks as scheduled; failure makes the pilot ineligible to draw contracted amount on pro rata basis until currency is restored.
- AAI will arrange hotel accommodation and transportation at outstations during calibration duties as per entitlement of Joint General Manager, AAI; accommodation at base station (Delhi) is to be arranged by the Co-Pilot.
- Co-Pilot will be eligible for 12 days casual leave and 18 days sick leave in a calendar year; un-availed leave cannot be carried forward or encashed and excess leave attracts pro rata deduction.
- No Gratuity, CPF or medical facility will be provided by AAI to Co-Pilot or dependents.
- Contract can be terminated by either side by giving 6 months’ notice; AAI can also terminate if Co-Pilot remains absent continuously for more than 15 days beyond entitled leave.
- During contract, Co-Pilot must make himself/herself available for AAI calibration duties and related jobs and cannot engage elsewhere without approval of Executive Director (FIU) for license currency or additional flying hours.
Salary/Stipend & Training for AAI Co-Pilot (P2) 2026
- Monthly Package: Negotiable, starting from Rs. 2.50 lakhs per month, including assured flying allowance of 50 hours; overtime flying allowance for hours beyond 50 per month as per guidelines.
- Annual Increment: 5% on negotiable monthly package, subject to AAI policy.
- Training & Bonds (Initial Currency / Non-rated Pilots):
- Initial currency training on type and associated expenditure arranged by AAI, subject to execution of a 3-year bond; costs recovered on reducing basis @ Rs. 1 lakh per month.
- Non-rated co-pilots on type, if selected, will undergo DGCA-approved training arranged by AAI against suitable bank security and must execute a 3-year bond. If training is not successfully completed, repeat training at own cost is required; otherwise AAI recovers expenses from bank security.
- Training & associated TA/DA expenses recovered @ Rs. 1.5 lakhs per month after attaining initial currency.
- For IR/PPC simulator training, co-pilot must execute a bond to serve AAI for minimum 1 year from completion of simulator training; fees/charges paid by AAI against bank guarantee/postdated cheque.
- Stipend during training: Rs. 50,000 per month; full remuneration from start of SLF.
- Sustenance Allowance: 50% of monthly hiring charges will be paid during suspension period on pro rata basis; in case of adverse outcome, this allowance must be returned by the co-pilot.
