Airports Authority of India (AAI), Chennai Airport, has released a notification for the engagement of Medical Consultant (Non-Specialist Doctor) on a temporary basis. Interested and eligible doctors with MBBS qualification and minimum 5 years of post-graduate experience can apply in the prescribed format.

Eligibility Criteria

• Essential Qualification: Minimum MBBS degree from recognized Universities as per Medical Council of India/National Medical Commission/Government of India norms, for engagement as Medical Consultant (Non-Specialist Doctor).
• Experience: At least 05 years after Graduation including one year as House Surgeon (Jr. Resident) in a teaching institution.
• Desirable / Preference: Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in Aviation Establishments, Government Establishments and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
• Proximity: Doctors residing in close proximity to the airport are preferred so as to make themselves available immediately in case of any airport emergency.

Salary/Stipend

• Honorarium of Rs.3000/- for the first 06 hours of duty on all prescribed working days (inclusive of conveyance and incidental charges).
• Rs.500/- for one hour additional duty on all working days.
• For every additional hour of duty performed beyond 07 hours, Rs.500/- shall be paid.
• No other financial liability, benefits like Provident Fund, Benevolent Fund, Group Insurance or any other kind of compensation available to AAI employees will be admissible.

Age Limit

• Maximum age limit: 60 years.
• No specific lower age limit is mentioned in the advertisement.

• No application fee or any other type of payment from the applicant is being charged.
• AAI has not authorised any agents/agencies to carry out the recruitment process; applicants are advised to be aware of touts.

Selection Process

• Mode of Selection: Interview.
• The selection shall be based on the performance of the candidate in the interview.
• Mere submission of application does not confer any right to the candidate to be interviewed.
• No TA/DA shall be admissible for attending the interview.
• AAI management shall not take responsibility to reply to candidates for non-selection or non-issuance of call letter/mail for attending the interview.
• AAI reserves the right to cancel the recruitment process at any time.

General Information/Instructions

• Applications are invited from Doctors possessing prescribed qualifications and experience for engagement as Medical Consultant (Non-Specialist) on purely temporary basis at AAI, Chennai Airport.
• The period of engagement shall be initially for one year and extendable for another one year; the engagement is purely temporary and confers no claim for regular employment at any stage.
• Application should be submitted in prescribed format only as per Annexure-I.
• Declaration of false information shall lead to cancellation of the candidature.
• Applications must be superscribed as “Engagement of Medical Consultant (Non-specialist) at AAI, Chennai Airport, Chennai”.
• Applications received beyond the stipulated date and time (30.01.2026) shall not be entertained.
• AAI shall not be a party to any dispute arising out of medical negligence or lapse occurring during treatment rendered by the Medical Consultant.
• Medical Consultant shall obtain Aerodrome Entry Permit (AEP) as per BCAS guidelines.

• Download/fill the application form in the prescribed proforma (Annexure-I) for engagement of Medical Consultant (Non-Specialist) at Chennai Airport.
• Fill the application form properly with details such as name, father’s/spouse’s name, date of birth, age, marital status, contact details, permanent and temporary addresses, nationality, educational and professional qualifications, and post-qualification experience.
• Attach self-attested copies of certificates in support of educational qualifications, experience, and Registration Certificate from Medical Council of India/National Medical Commission (originals to be produced at the time of interview).
• Attach two recent passport size photographs and proof of residential address.
• Attach duly signed Annexure-II regarding acceptance of Remuneration, Terms and Conditions of Engagement & Termination of engagement.
• Attach duly signed Annexure-III regarding acceptance of Charter of Duties and Responsibilities for Medical Consultant (Non-Specialist).
• Attach duly signed Annexure-IV regarding acceptance of Code of Conduct for Medical Consultant (Non-Specialist).
• Send the completed and signed application form with all required enclosures, addressed to “The Jt. General Manager (HR), Airports Authority of India, Operational Building, Chennai Airport, Meenambakam, Chennai – 16”, so as to reach on or before 30.01.2026.
