AICTE YASHASVI Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

- The candidate must be admitted to the Second Year of a Degree/Diploma course through Lateral Entry at any AICTE-approved institution.

How to Apply for AICTE YASHASVI Scholarship 2026-27 - Step by Step

Selection Criteria
Degree Level Students
- Selection is based solely on merit in the qualifying examination (12th grade) for admission to the core engineering Degree branch.
- Lateral Entry candidates are selected based on the average consolidated percentage across all 6 semesters of their Diploma, limited to 10% of the total seat allocation in the respective state.
- If a state's calculated allocation is below 10 scholarships, a minimum of 10 will still be allotted to that State/UT.
- A State/UT-wise merit list is prepared according to the number of scholarships allotted.
Diploma Level Students
- Selection is based solely on merit in the qualifying examination (10th grade) for admission to the core engineering Diploma branch.

Tie-Breaking Criteria
Degree Level Students
- If percentile in the qualifying (12th) examination does not break a tie, the candidate with a higher percentage in the 10th examination is ranked higher.
- If the 10th examination percentile still does not break the tie, the older candidate is ranked higher.
Diploma Level Students
- If percentage in the 10th examination does not break a tie, the older candidate is ranked higher.
CGPA to Percentage Conversion Rules
- To convert CGPA into percentage: CGPA × 9.5 = Percentage.
- If both CGPA and total marks are given on the mark sheet, total marks will be considered.
- If grades (A1, A2, B1, B2, etc.) are given, grades are first converted to CGPA, the average CGPA is calculated, and this is then converted to percentage using the formula above.
Renewal of AICTE YASHASVI Scholarship
- The scholarship is renewed for the next year of study upon submission of the passing certificate/mark sheet, along with a letter from the Head of the Institution, on the online portal.
- Students who are not promoted to the next class/level will forfeit the scholarship.
Important Terms & Conditions
- Reservation is applied as per Government of India norms.
- If a reserved-category student also qualifies in the General Category merit list, they will be counted under the General Category.
- Only verified online applications are considered; incomplete applications are summarily rejected.
- Students who drop out in a subsequent year are not eligible for further scholarship.
- Students who shift from a core engineering branch to any other branch in a subsequent year become ineligible and must refund the entire scholarship amount to AICTE via Demand Draft in favour of "Member Secretary, AICTE," payable at New Delhi.
- The scholarship is granted on the condition that the student does not receive any other financial assistance (scholarship, emoluments, salary, stipend, etc.) from any other source during the course. If such assistance is received, the scholarship is discontinued and the entire amount must be refunded.
- A provisional list of shortlisted candidates is uploaded on the AICTE web portal. Grievances regarding the merit list must be raised within one month of publication - no queries are entertained after this period.
- Queries regarding non-payment due to an invalid/incorrect bank account number are entertained only up to six months from the date the merit list is published.
