AIIMS Guwahati Assistant Professor (Contractual) Recruitment 2025 Vacancy Details

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate must possess a medical qualification included in the I or II Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956; persons with qualifications in Part II of Third Schedule must also fulfill Section 13(3) conditions.
• Must have a postgraduate qualification such as MD/MS or a recognized equivalent qualification in the respective discipline/subject.
• For general disciplines, three years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution in the concerned speciality after obtaining MD/MS or equivalent degree.
• For super speciality disciplines, must possess MD/MS or equivalent and DM in the respective medical super speciality or MCh in the respective surgical super speciality (2/3/5 years recognized course) or equivalent.
• For DM/MCh (2 years or 5 years after MBBS), one year teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution in the concerned speciality after obtaining DM/MCh or equivalent.
• No experience is required for candidates with a 3-year recognized DM/MCh degree or equivalent.
• DNB holders must produce documentary evidence of equivalence with MD/MS/DM/MCh as per NMC/MCI notification dated 31.10.2018, and additional experience is required depending on the type of DNB training institution as per notification.

Age Limit (as on date of walk-in-interview)

• Assistant Professor (Contractual): Not exceeding 50 years as on the date of the walk-in-interview.
• No age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates applying for unreserved vacancies.
• Age relaxation beyond upper age limit: SC/ST – 5 years; OBC – 3 years; PwBD (OH-OL & BL) – 10 years; Government Servant – 5 years (as per DoPT instructions); other relaxations as per DoPT rules.

Application Fee

• Application Fees: Rs. 1,500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred only).
• For Unreserved/OBC/EWS candidates: Rs. 1,500/- payable through Demand Draft drawn in favour of “AIIMS GUWAHATI” payable at Guwahati; candidate name and post applied for must be written in capital letters on the back of the Demand Draft.
• No application fee for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates of any community.
• Application fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.
• Applications without the prescribed fee, where applicable, will not be considered and will be summarily rejected.

Salary/Stipend

• Name of Post: Assistant Professor (Contractual).
• Consolidated pay per month: Rs. 1,42,506/-.
• In case campus accommodation is provided, deductions as applicable for such accommodation will be made from the remuneration.
• Monthly remuneration is all-inclusive and subject to deduction of tax at source and other statutory deductions as required under law.

Selection Process

• Candidates fulfilling eligibility criteria will report for walk-in interview at AIIMS Guwahati with prescribed application form and self-attested copies of certificates and original documents by 08:30 AM on the date of interview.
• Document verification will be conducted from 9:00 AM onwards before the interview.
• A Screening Committee may shortlist candidates based on bio-data; if required, a screening test may be conducted when large numbers of applications are received.
• The methodology of selection, including interview and any test, will be decided by the Selection Committee as deemed fit.
• Candidates called for interview must produce all original documents and may be asked to submit an affidavit/declaration as decided by AIIMS Guwahati.
• No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.

• Candidates must report for the walk-in interview with the application in prescribed format, self-attested copies of certificates/testimonials and all original documents by 08:30 AM on the interview date.
• Candidates applying for more than one post must submit separate applications and pay separate application fees for each post.
• Candidates already in Government service (including AIIMS employees) must produce a No Objection Certificate from their present employer at the time of interview and should have taken prior permission while applying.
• Incomplete applications or those without prescribed fee (where applicable) will be summarily rejected.

Instructions

• The posts are purely on contractual basis for a period of one year or till regular appointment, whichever is earlier; extension may be considered as per rules and institutional requirements.
• Contractual faculty will have clinical, teaching and research duties and will report to the concerned HOD/Dean/Executive Director, AIIMS Guwahati.
• Remuneration is consolidated, subject to statutory deductions and tax at source; in case of campus accommodation, applicable deductions will be made.
• Private practice and other paid assignments are strictly prohibited during the contract period.
• The contract can be terminated by either side with one-month notice or salary in lieu of notice; services can be terminated without notice in case of misconduct, non-performance or violation of terms.
• Candidates must satisfy all eligibility conditions as on the date of walk-in interview; qualifications and experience not recognized by Govt. of India will lead to cancellation of candidature.
• Reservation benefits for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD will be admissible only on production of valid certificates in prescribed formats issued by competent authorities.
• AIIMS Guwahati reserves the right to vary the number of vacancies, modify or cancel the advertisement and its decision regarding selection will be final.
