All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Guwahati is recruiting 6 project staff positions under the ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) funded research project titled "Four-month Moxifloxacin containing Shorter Regimen versus 6 months Standard Regimen for Treatment of Drug sensitive TB disease in children aged 1 year to 18 years - Open labelled Randomised Controlled Trial (4M kids Study)". This is a 3-year research project with initial engagement period of 11 months.

Eligibility Criteria
Position 1: Project Research Scientist-I (Medical) - 1 Vacancy
- Essential Qualification: MBBS registered with NMC (National Medical Council) or State Medical Council
- Age Limit: Not exceeding 40 years
- Desirable Qualifications:
- MD/DNB in Paediatrics
- Experience of working in public health projects
- Experience in biostatistical application in medical statistics and/or epidemiology
- Good publication record
- Excellent writing and verbal skills for communication
- Fluency or working level proficiency in English, Hindi, and Assamese
- Willingness to travel extensively in rural/urban parts of Assam
Position 2: Project Staff Nurse - 1 Vacancy
- Essential Qualification: General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) diploma with registration in State Nursing Council
- Desirable Qualifications:
- B.Sc Nursing registered with State Nursing Council
- 1-2 years experience in public health projects
- Fluency or working level proficiency in English, Hindi, and Assamese
- Willingness to travel extensively in rural/urban parts of Assam
Position 3: Project Technical Support Staff-II (Field/Laboratory Investigator) - 4 Vacancies
- Essential Qualification: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Sciences OR Master's degree in Laboratory Technology

- 1-2 years experience in public health projects

Selection Process

Salary/ Remuneration

- Project Staff Nurse: ₹20,000/- per month + 20% HRA (House Rent Allowance as admissible)
- Project Technical Support Staff-II: ₹20,000/- per month + 20% HRA (House Rent Allowance as admissible)
- Payment Basis: Initial engagement for 11 months or less, depending on project tenure and functional requirements
- Benefits: No provident fund, Leave Travel Concession, Medical Claim, or accommodation benefits provided (temporary project basis)
- Important Note: Rates of emoluments/stipend may vary according to sanction by the funding agency (ICMR)
Terms & Conditions
- Nature of Employment: Purely temporary contractual basis under ICMR guidelines
- Initial Duration: 11 months or less, depending on project tenure and functional requirements
- Continuation/Extension: Based on evaluation of performance, project tenure, availability of funds, functional requirements, and competent authority approval
- Project Duration: 3 years total (but individual engagement may be shorter)
- Performance-Based Termination: If performance is unsatisfactory, appointment can be terminated at any time without prior notice or compensation
- No Regular Employment: Selected candidates have NO claim on regular post in ICMR, AIIMS Guwahati, or any government organization
- Work Location: Normally posted at study site; however, can be posted to any other site in the interest of research
- Extensive Travel Required: Candidates must be willing to travel extensively in rural and urban parts of Assam for data collection and project activities
- No TA/DA: No Travel Allowance (TA) or Dearness Allowance (DA) for interview/personal discussion - candidates must arrange own transport and accommodation
- Joining Period: Selected candidates must join within 7 days of declaration of results
- Employment Restriction: Candidates already working in regular/permanent posts under government departments/organizations are NOT eligible
- NOC Requirement: Candidates already employed must submit NOC from employer
