APSSB Special Recruitment Drive 2026 – Apply Online for 984 Constable, Fireman & Special Tiger Guard Posts

Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) has released the Special Recruitment Drive for Uniformed Services Combined Examination 2026 for Group C posts in various departments. Through this drive, a total of 984 vacancies are notified for Constable Band (IRBn), Constable Bugler (IRBn), Constable IRBn, Constable Civil Police (Male & Female), Fireman and Special Tiger Guard under STPF. Eligible 10th pass candidates can submit their online application on the official APSSB website within the given dates, and selection will be done through written exam, PST/PET, trade test and medical fitness test.​

All posts are in Level-3 of the Pay Matrix (₹21,700–69,100).​

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality & Cut-off Date

• Candidate must be a citizen of India.​

• Educational qualification, age and experience will be reckoned as on 10-04-2026 (closing date).​

Educational Qualification (All Posts)

• Must have passed Class X / Matric or equivalent from a recognised Board.​

• For Constable Band (IRBn): 10th pass with knowledge of playing band.​

• For Constable Bugler (IRBn): 10th pass with knowledge of playing bugle.​

Age Limit

Age limit is determined as on 10-04-2026.​

Age Relaxation:

• APST candidates: up to 5 years over the upper age limit.​

• Ex-Servicemen: allowed to deduct period of service plus up to 3 years, as per rules; detailed formula as in notification.​

• One-time upper age relaxation is available only for certain candidates of earlier Constable exam (as per Govt notification) for Post Codes 5/26, 6/26, 8/26 and 9/26.​

Physical Standards (PST) – Key Points

Only highlights are given here; candidates should check post-wise tables in the notification for full details.​

• Constable (IRBn/Civil Police/Fireman – Male):

  • General: Height 165 cm; Chest 79–84 cm.​

  • APST (other than Tirap/Changlang/Longding): Height 160 cm.​

  • APST (Tirap/Changlang/Longding): Height 152 cm.​

  • Ex-Servicemen: Height 157 cm (where applicable).​

• Constable Civil Police (Female):

  • General: Height 157 cm.​

  • APST: 152 cm.​

• Special Tiger Guard (STPF):

  • Male (General): 163 cm; APST: 152 cm; chest 79–84 cm.​

  • Female (General): 150 cm; APST: 145 cm; chest 74–79 cm.​

Vision standards: Better eye 6/6 (corrected), worse eye 6/12 (corrected), near vision J1/J2; no colour blindness.​

Application Fees

• APST candidates: ₹150 (non-refundable).​

• Unreserved candidates: ₹200 (non-refundable).​

• Fee to be paid online only; no other mode is accepted.​

Selection Process – Stages

Selection will be done through multiple stages depending on the post.​

For Post Codes 5/26 to 10/26

• Stage I: Written Examination – Objective Type, 200 marks, 2 hours.​

  • General Awareness – 50 marks

  • General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability – 50 marks

  • Arithmetical & Numerical Ability – 50 marks

  • English Language & Comprehension – 50 marks​

  • Minimum 33% aggregate marks required; no negative marking.​

• Stage II: Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Trade Test (where applicable).​

  • For Constable Band & Bugler: Trade Test in playing band/bugle.​

  • Candidates shortlisted for Stage II in 1:3 ratio, subject to written exam cut-off.​

  • Ex-Servicemen exempted from PET & Trade Test but must qualify PST.​

• Stage III: Medical Fitness Test.​

For Post Code 11/26 (Special Tiger Guard)

• Stage I: Written Examination (same pattern).​

• Stage II: PST & PET as per standards.​

PST, PET, Trade Test and Medical Fitness Test are qualifying in nature; final merit is based on written exam and preference of posts.​

General Instructions (Key Points)

• Applications submitted in any mode other than online will be rejected.​

• Candidates must carefully fill all details; no modification after closing date.​

• Multiple applications for the same post: only latest application will be considered.​

• Admit Cards will be available only on www.apssb.nic.in; no individual admit card will be sent.​

• Candidates must carry the same Photo ID (Aadhaar, Voter ID, DL, PAN or Govt ID) used in application along with admit card to exam centre.​

• Use of mobile phones, calculators, smart watches and electronic gadgets is strictly prohibited in the exam hall.​

How to Apply Online for APSSB Special Recruitment Drive 2026

Follow the steps below to submit the online application form on the APSSB portal.​

1. Visit the official website www.apssb.nic.in within the application window (23-03-2026 to 10-04-2026 up to 3 PM).​

2. Click on the relevant link for “Special Recruitment Drive for Uniformed Services Combined Examination 2026 (Advt 04/26)”.​

3. Complete the registration using basic details, mobile number and email ID, if required by the portal.​

4. Login and fill the online application form with personal details, educational qualification, category, and communication details.​

5. Select your post preferences and Department/Office carefully; once submitted, preference cannot be changed later.​

6. Upload scanned passport size photograph and signature in the prescribed format and size.​

7. Pay the application fee online (₹150 for APST, ₹200 for UR) using available payment modes.​

8. Submit the application form and take a printout of the final submitted form and fee receipt for future reference.​

9. Download the admit card from the APSSB website when released and keep it safely till the recruitment process is over.​
