The total number of vacancies for ASRB Senior Scientist-cum-Head, KVK Recruitment 2025 is 8 posts. Against each item, there is only one vacancy in different Krishi Vigyan Kendras under various ICAR Research Institutes.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

For all Senior Scientist-cum-Head, KVK posts, a Doctoral degree in Agricultural Sciences including relevant basic sciences is essential, along with the prescribed experience and contributions as detailed for each item in the notification.

• Doctoral degree in Agricultural Sciences including relevant basic sciences with 8 years’ experience in the relevant subject as Scientist/Lecturer/Extension Specialist or equivalent in Pay Band-3 with specified Grade Pay or higher, with contributions to research/teaching/extension as evidenced by published work/innovations and impact; OR
• Doctoral degree in Agricultural Sciences including relevant basic sciences with minimum 8 years’ experience of high-quality postdoctoral research in an institution/organization with at least 6 publications in journals with NAAS rating of 7.5 or above.
• Desirable: Experience in frontline extension, co-ordination and monitoring of extension programmes; for the Chinyalisaur, Uttarakashi KVK post, at least 08 years’ experience of working in hilly areas with specialization in implementing horticultural extension education programmes in hilly areas.

Age Limit

• Upper Age Limit: An applicant should not have attained the age of 47 years as on 22/01/2026, i.e. the closing date for submission of online applications.
• Age for ICAR Employees: There will be no upper age limit for ICAR employees.

Application Fee

• The application fee is Rs. 1500/- (Rupees one thousand five hundred only) for each post, to be deposited through Bharatkosh (bharatkosh.gov.in) while submitting the online application form.
• Payment can be made through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or UPI from any bank; transaction charges, if any, shall be borne by the candidate.
• Candidates belonging to SC/ST/Divyang categories and women candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.
• Application fee for each post must be paid separately and once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.

Salary/Stipend

The post of Senior Scientist-cum-Head, KVK in ICAR Research Institutes carries the pay scale of Research Level-13A in the 7th CPC pay matrix, i.e. Rs. 1,31,400–2,17,100 (equivalent to pre-revised PB-4 Rs. 37400–67000 with Grade Pay Rs. 9,000).

Selection Process

• Candidates must fulfill the prescribed essential and desirable qualifications and eligibility criteria as clearly specified in the notification.
• Short-listing of candidates for being called for interview will be done based on the Score Card system applicable for the post of Senior Scientist, which is also applicable for the post of Senior Scientist-cum-Head, KVK.
• Shortlisted applicants must appear for personal interview on the scheduled date and place as decided by the Board; travelling or other expenses for attending interview are not defrayed by the Board.
• The decision of the Board regarding eligibility and selection based on evaluation of applications and records shall be final.

• Candidates must upload specified documents such as Date of Birth certificate, Doctoral Degree, appointment orders, category certificates, No Objection Certificate (for in-service candidates), and fee payment receipt in clear and readable scanned copies.
• Application fee must be paid through Bharatkosh (bharatkosh.gov.in) as per the instructions given in Annexure-IV and the receipt has to be uploaded in the online application form.

• Candidates must be citizens of India and in sound health, and may be required to undergo medical examination as prescribed.
• All selected candidates will be governed by the service conditions, rules and instructions of ICAR regarding leave, pay, advances, travelling and other allowances.
• In-service candidates must apply along with the prescribed application fee and upload a No Objection Certificate strictly in the format given in Annexure-II, issued by the parent organization.
• Incomplete applications, applications without prescribed fee (unless exempted), or without proper NOC where required are liable to be rejected summarily.
• Providing false information or suppressing material facts may lead to rejection of candidature and debarment from future ASRB recruitments.
