A total of 21 posts of Stenographer Grade-III are to be filled, comprising 4 backlog posts and 17 new posts. Since this recruitment is for a single post category with reservation-wise distribution, the vacancy break-up is shown below.

Note: The Scheduled Caste (Category-C) post is reserved for candidates belonging to the 59 most backward castes within that category. Selected candidates for the Stenographer Grade-III post will draw pay in the following scale:

Pay Scale: ₹44,425 - 1125 - 47,800 - 1250 - 52,800 - 1375 - 58,300 - 1500 - 64,300 - 1650 - 74,200 - 1900 - 83,700

Selected candidates will also be covered under the National Pension Scheme (NPS).

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have passed the 2nd PUC (12th standard) examination, or possess a 3-year diploma in Commercial Practice, or hold an equivalent qualification.
• Candidates must have passed Senior Grade Shorthand and Typewriting examinations in both Kannada and English languages conducted by the Department of Public Instruction, or hold an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Basic computer knowledge relevant to office work is compulsory.

Age Limit

An additional age relaxation of 5 years is applicable, as a one-time measure for all categories in this recruitment, as per Government Order No. SIASHE 262 SeNeNi 2025 dated 29.01.2026. Further age relaxation is also available for candidates already in government service, widows, ex-servicemen, and persons with disabilities, as per the Karnataka Civil Services (General Recruitment) Rules, 1977.

Bengaluru Rural District Court Application Fee 2026

The application fee must be paid online through the State Bank Collect facility of the State Bank of India, using Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI ID, or QR Code. Fee payment through Demand Draft, Postal Order, Money Order, or Challan will not be accepted. Applications will be rejected if the prescribed fee is not paid.

2. Register and fill in the online application form with accurate personal, educational, and category-related details.
3. Upload a recent passport-size photograph (in .jpg format, not exceeding 50 KB), signed in blue ink, without any editing.
4. Upload a scanned signature made with a black ballpoint pen on white paper (in .jpg format, not exceeding 25 KB).
5. Pay the applicable application fee online through Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card, UPI, or QR Code.

Bengaluru Rural District Court Stenographer Grade-III Selection Process 2026

Selection will be made through a Skill Test (Shorthand and Typing) followed by document verification/interview, as detailed below:

• Candidates will be dictated a passage at 120 words per minute for 5 minutes each in Kannada and English shorthand at the time of the skill test.
• Candidates must transcribe the dictated passage using a computer within 45 minutes. Transcripts are checked using computer software.
• A minimum of 100 marks is fixed for each of the Kannada and English language skill tests, and candidates must secure at least 50 marks in each to qualify.
• Candidates who qualify the skill test are shortlisted for interview/document verification based on total marks, in a ratio of 1:5 per post (i.e., the top 5 candidates per vacancy).
• Final selection is based on the total marks scored in the skill test and document verification/interview.

Probation Period

Selected candidates will be on probation for a period of 2 years, as per the Karnataka Civil Services (Probation) Rules, 1977. During the probation period, candidates must pass the prescribed departmental examinations, the Kannada language examination, and the computer literacy examination applicable to the post.

• Applications can be submitted online only until 15.09.2026, 11:59 PM, through the official court website.
• Candidates should carefully read all instructions before applying. Applications with incorrect or incomplete information will be rejected.
• Only the date of birth, educational qualification, and reservation category details entered in the application will be considered; no request for subsequent changes will be entertained.
• Candidates must provide a valid mobile number and email ID, as all communication will be sent through SMS and email. The court will not be responsible if information is not received due to incorrect contact details.
• Marks obtained in qualifying examinations must be entered correctly; if grade points are involved, converted marks as per the concerned board/authority must be used.
• Candidates cannot submit more than one application. If multiple applications are submitted, only the last one will be considered for further processing.
