Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have passed the 2nd PUC (12th standard) examination, or possess a 3-year diploma in Commercial Practice, or hold an equivalent qualification.
- Candidates must have passed Senior Grade Shorthand and Typewriting examinations in both Kannada and English languages conducted by the Department of Public Instruction, or hold an equivalent recognised qualification.

Bengaluru Rural District Court Stenographer Grade-III Selection Process 2026
Selection will be made through a Skill Test (Shorthand and Typing) followed by document verification/interview, as detailed below:
- Candidates will be dictated a passage at 120 words per minute for 5 minutes each in Kannada and English shorthand at the time of the skill test.
- Candidates must transcribe the dictated passage using a computer within 45 minutes. Transcripts are checked using computer software.
- A minimum of 100 marks is fixed for each of the Kannada and English language skill tests, and candidates must secure at least 50 marks in each to qualify.
- Candidates who qualify the skill test are shortlisted for interview/document verification based on total marks, in a ratio of 1:5 per post (i.e., the top 5 candidates per vacancy).
- Final selection is based on the total marks scored in the skill test and document verification/interview.
Probation Period
Selected candidates will be on probation for a period of 2 years, as per the Karnataka Civil Services (Probation) Rules, 1977. During the probation period, candidates must pass the prescribed departmental examinations, the Kannada language examination, and the computer literacy examination applicable to the post.

- Applications can be submitted online only until 15.09.2026, 11:59 PM, through the official court website.
- Candidates should carefully read all instructions before applying. Applications with incorrect or incomplete information will be rejected.
- Only the date of birth, educational qualification, and reservation category details entered in the application will be considered; no request for subsequent changes will be entertained.
