Eligibility Criteria for CBSE Compartment Exam 2026
Class 12 Eligibility
Students who failed in one subject in the CBSE Class 12 Board Examination 2026 are eligible to apply for the compartment exam. Additionally, students from the 2024-25 session using their final (third) opportunity to clear compartment can appear in this examination. Students who passed in 2026 but want to improve performance in one subject under the Performance Improvement category are also eligible. The board allows students to take the compartment exam to complete their Class 12 certification without repeating the entire academic year.
Class 10 Eligibility
Students who failed in one or two subjects in the main board exam can appear for compartment exams. CBSE provides up to three attempts to clear the compartment examination, giving students multiple opportunities to pass.
