How to Apply
This recruitment requires two mandatory steps - submitting the online application AND sending a hard copy by post. Completing only the online form is insufficient; applications where the hard copy is not received in time will be summarily rejected.
- Visit the application portal: Go to https://curec.samarth.ac.in (CU Chayan Portal).
- Register and fill the online application form for the specific post you are applying for. Note your Online Registration Number.
- Upload supporting documents - SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/PwBD certificates as applicable, educational qualification documents, experience certificates, and disability certificates (if applicable).
- Pay the application fee online (Credit/Debit Card, NEFT, Net Banking) if applicable. Save the transaction receipt.
- Candidates already in service must upload an Endorsement/NOC from their employer. If unable to upload at the time of application, upload an undertaking that the NOC/Endorsement will be submitted with the hard copy or at the time of interview. Failure to produce NOC at interview will disqualify the candidate.
- Submit the online application before 10 July 2026 at 11:59 PM.
- Prepare the hard copy: Print one copy of the completed application form. Attach self-attested copies of all documents claimed in the online application. Number all supporting documents serially; the serial numbers must correspond to the relevant entries in the hard copy.
- Superscribe the envelope with: Name of Candidate | Online Registration No | Notification No | Post Applied for.
- Dispatch the hard copy by post/courier to: The Recruitment Cell, Central University of Kerala, Tejaswini Hills, Periye, Kasaragod, Kerala – 671325. The hard copy must be received before 5:00 PM on 25 July 2026.
Candidates possessing foreign degrees must submit an Equivalence Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) at the time of interview.
Selection Process
Central University of Kerala will shortlist candidates based on their qualifications and experience, and call them for a personal interview. Meeting the minimum prescribed qualifications alone does not guarantee an interview call - where the number of applications is large, the university may restrict candidates to a higher threshold of qualifications and experience at its discretion.
The selection stages are:
- Scrutiny of online applications against prescribed eligibility criteria
- Shortlisting - based on qualifications and experience beyond the minimum (at university's discretion)
- Personal Interview - shortlisted candidates are notified by email only; call letters are issued through email only
- Document verification at the time of interview
- Medical fitness certificate from the university-specified medical board (if selected and appointed)
SC/ST/PwBD outstation candidates (residing beyond 30 km from the interview venue) who are called for interview will be reimbursed single second-class railway fare from station to station, on production of ticket and proof of category, as per Government of India rules. This concession does not apply to SC/ST/PwBD candidates already in Central or State Government services.
All correspondence from the university - including call letters - will be through email only. Candidates must keep their registered email ID active throughout the recruitment process. Queries may be directed to [email protected].
Important Notes on Eligibility and Documents
Several conditions frequently lead to disqualification that candidates should be aware of. Degrees or diplomas obtained from institutions declared fake or derecognized by UGC at the time of obtaining the degree will render the candidate ineligible. The proof of peer-reviewed journal status, Impact Factor, and authorship claims must be supported by valid documents - scores will not be allotted without valid proof. Once appointed, faculty may be required to teach UG, PG, or other programmes and serve at any place/centre as notified by the university, in addition to regular teaching and research duties.
Troubleshooting and Common Mistakes to Avoid
Even experienced applicants make avoidable errors in central university recruitment. Here are the most common pitfalls:
Missing the hard copy deadline is the most frequent cause of rejection. The online form and the hard copy are both mandatory. Many candidates submit the online form on the last day and fail to dispatch the hard copy in time for it to be received by 25 July 2026 at 5:00 PM. Post or courier well in advance.
Incorrect serial numbering of documents causes processing delays. Every document enclosed with the hard copy must be serially numbered, and those numbers must be cross-referenced against the relevant entries in the application form.
Experience certificates that don't meet UGC Clause 10 requirements are a very common issue for this type of recruitment. Offer letters, appointment orders, joining reports, and relieving orders are explicitly not accepted. Ensure your experience certificate specifies: period of service, scale of pay, nature of appointment (Regular/Contract/Temporary), and nature of the organisation.
Envelope not superscribed correctly can lead to misrouting. The envelope must clearly mention the candidate's name, Online Registration Number, Notification Number (from page 2 against each post), and Post Applied for.
Uploading a NOC from the employer is mandatory for candidates in service. If the NOC is not available at the time of online submission, upload a signed undertaking stating it will be submitted with the hard copy - but do not leave it until the interview, as candidates without NOC will not be permitted to attend.
Grading system candidates must submit a conversion certificate from their university. Stating CGPA without an official conversion document is not accepted; percentages must be mentioned in the online form calculated as per university norms.
