CSIR IHBT Eligibility Criteria and Qualification

Eligibility depends on the position code. The notification lists one or more essential qualifications for each code, plus desirable experience that is preferred but not the stated minimum. Candidates whose results are awaited are not eligible for the interview.

All degrees must be from a recognized university. Experience required for Senior PAT and PAT-II must be in R&D in industrial or academic institutions, or in science and technology organizations and scientific activities and services. CSIR IHBT Age Limit

Age is counted as on the interview date for the respective position code (for example, 16.10.2026 for codes 17001-17005). Age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST/PwBD/Women and 3 years for OBC, or as per Government of India instructions issued from time to time.

CSIR IHBT Salary

The stipend is consolidated per month and paid along with HRA.

Higher PAT-I stipend: For codes 17002, 17007, 17012, 17016, 17020, 17022 and 17024, candidates who qualified CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET (including lectureship/assistant professorship) or GATE, or a national-level exam by Central Government departments such as DBT/DST or equivalent, get Rs. 31,000 + HRA. Others for those codes get Rs. 25,000 + HRA. The notification states the HRA rate as 10% for codes 17002 and 17022 and gives it as "+ HRA" elsewhere.

CSIR IHBT Selection Process

The Selection Committee may select candidates either by a direct interview or by an objective test (multiple-choice questions) followed by an interview on the same day. The final decision rests with the Director, CSIR-IHBT. Request for online interview will not be entertained.

• Project end dates range from 31.03.2027 to 31.03.2029, depending on the project.
