Vacancy Details

Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification: M.Sc. (Environmental Science/ Analytical Chemistry) OR B.E./B.Tech. (Civil / Chemical/ Environmental) from a recognized university AND 02 years’ experience in R&D in industrial and academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and services. OR M.Tech. (Civil /Chemical/ Environmental) from a recognized university
• Essential Qualification: M.Sc. (Environmental Science/ Analytical Chemistry) OR B.E./B.Tech. (Civil / Chemical/ Environmental) from a recognized university AND 02 years’ experience in R&D in industrial and academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and services. OR M.Tech. (Civil /Chemical/ Environmental) from a recognized university
• Experience: 02 years’ experience in R&D in industrial and academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organisations and Scientific activities and services.

Salary/ Stipend

• Rs. 35,000/- + HRA for those candidates who have qualified CSIR-UGC / ICAR / ICMR NET lectureship / Assistant professorship or GATE OR Those who have qualified National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments like DBT/DST or equivalent and / or their Agencies / Institutions.
• 28,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under above

• Selection will be done on the basis of Walk-in-Interview at CSIR-NEERI, Mumbai Zonal Centre.

General Information / Instructions

• The above positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the aforementioned projects. The engagement in these projects will not confer any right implicit or explicit on the candidate for considering regularization against any CSIR/CSIR - NEERI post(s). Moreover, under no circumstances the tenure of project staff who have served CSIR-NEERI or any other laboratories/Institutes of CSIR under contract R&D projects would be allowed to exceed Six or Seven as the case may be as per clause no. 1.6/1.7 of CSIR OM No. 5-1(342)/2017-PD Dated 02.09.2024 as amended from time to time.
• Upper age limit shall be reckoned as on the last date of receipt of applications
• Candidates are not required to pay any application fees.
• Only those candidates who have acquired the essential qualification & result has been declared (should have at least provisional certificate) are eligible to apply for a particular position.
• Result awaited /Final semester appeared or Ph. D submitted candidates are not eligible to apply for the position where such minimum essential qualification requirement is mandatory.
• Final semester and result awaited candidates are not allowed to appear for the interview.
• Experience, where required, will be counted from the date after acquiring minimum educational qualification. Dissertation/ Thesis work done during academic period will not be counted as experience.
• Time spent in acquiring higher qualification will not be counted as an experience over essential qualification.
• Mere fulfilling of minimum qualification does not confer any right in a candidate for being called for interview. If large number of applications received, preference will be given to the candidates under the criteria adopted by the Screening Committee.
• The shortlisted candidates will be invited for the online interview; information will be uploaded on the website/ portal. (applicable only for online interview and not for walk in interview)
• No upgradation of the project staff shall be done in same or new project. However, candidates have to apply fresh, and if shortlisted, have to appear for the interview.
• CSIR-NEERI reserves the right to cancel or withdraw the offer of engagement in case of any discrepancy found, in the candidature of any empaneled candidate at any stage.
• The selected candidates are expected to join within time frame mentioned in the offer letter from the date of receiving offer letter of appointment, after completion of pre-appointment formalities like medical examination, character verification etc.
• Each selected candidate shall sign an undertaking for maintaining confidentiality of project findings and/or any associated intellectual property information.
• Engagement under the new project would be made only after the acceptance of the resignation from the previous project by the competent authority.
• Engagement of project staff will depend on the project tenure/ requirement, which may be extended or curtailed depending on the duration of the Project/desired level performance or conduct of the incumbent, as the case may be.
• The engagement of project staff may be terminated at any time without assigning any reasons, by giving a one-month notice. In case, the person desires to leave the assignment, he/she may also do so by giving one-month notice or payment of one-month remuneration in lieu of, which can be condoned/ curtailed at the discretion of the Competent Authority.
• The project staff shall have to make their own arrangement for accommodation during their tenure in the project. However, HRA shall be admissible as per applicable rules.
• The offer letter shall be issued to the candidate initially for a period for which funds are available.
• A review committee will assess the performance of the project staff and recommend for their extension, if required, subject to the availability of funds in the project.
• CSIR guidelines for engagement of project personnel, as made applicable vide CSIR OM No. 5-1(342)/2017-PD dated 02.09.2024/ 18.10.2024 and amended from time to time shall apply.
• No TA will be paid to the candidates for appearing in the interview in case of offline interviews.
• Other terms & conditions will be governed as per guidelines issued by the funding agency/ CSIR-NEERI for the engagement of the Project Staff as amended from time to time.

• The candidates shall bring a passport-size photo, Aadhaar card, 10th (SSC), 12th (HSC), Graduate marksheets. Degree, Graduate mark sheets (one set photocopy and original) along with filled application form attached with this advertisement.
