Eligibility Criteria
- Qualifications: Pass in 3-year Bachelor’s Degree in Arts (other than fine arts/performing arts) or in Commerce or in Science or in Computer Applications or Business Administration with minimum 60% of marks from a recognized university.
- Essential qualifications: Minimum of two years post qualification experience in a Shipyard, Engineering Company, Commercial Organization, or Government/Semi Government company/Establishment.
- Desirable: Proficiency in Computer Applications like AutoCAD, SAP, MS Project, MS Office etc.
- Experience: Minimum of two years post qualification experience is essential. Period of completed Apprenticeship Training or training with remuneration is treated as experience.
Salary/Stipend
- A consolidated pay of ₹24,400/- per month for candidates meeting the minimum experience requirement (2 years).
- Eligibility for compensation for extra hours of work up to ₹6,100/- per month.
- Higher pay may be offered for completed years of on-roll experience over and above the minimum required experience in CSL or similar Shipyards.
Age Limit (as on 31-12-2025)
- The upper age limit shall not exceed 45 years as on 31st December 2025.
- The upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates in posts reserved for them.
- Age relaxation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and Ex-servicemen shall be as per Government of India Guidelines, not exceeding 50 years after all relaxations.
Application Fee
- Application fee of ₹300/- (Non-refundable, plus bank charges extra) should be remitted using Online payment options (Debit card/Credit card/Internet Banking etc.).
- Applicants belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Person with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are exempted from payment of application fee.

Selection Process
- The method of selection shall be through Written Tests (Objective Type Test and Descriptive Type Test) for a total of 100 marks.
- The Objective Type Test is 90 Minutes (80 Multiple Choice Questions, no negative marks).
- The Descriptive Type Test is 45 minutes duration (Writing skills - 20 Marks).
- Objective Test Syllabus areas: General Knowledge (5 M), Reasoning (5 M), Quantitative Aptitude (10 M), General English (10 M), Discipline related (50 M).
- Descriptive test answer sheets will be evaluated only if minimum pass marks are secured in the objective test.
- Rank lists are prepared based on aggregate marks secured in both tests. Tie-breaking rules involve Discipline marks and age seniority.
- Selection is subject to verification of eligibility requirements and medical fitness.
General Information/Instructions
- The posts are temporary in nature for a maximum period of five years on contract basis.
- Posting is at CSL AN Ship Repair Unit (CANSRU), Sri Vijaya Puram, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Candidates are transferable to other CSL units/work sites.
- The post is reserved only for candidates domiciled in Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
- Applicants must ensure they meet eligibility requirements before applying online.
- Applicants should not submit more than one application.
- No TA/DA shall be paid for attending the selection process.
- Call letters for selection will be sent via e-mail/published on the CSL website only.
- Selected candidates must undergo a medical examination prescribed by CANSRU.
