Qualifications for SPO (Mechanical/Electrical): Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with minimum 60% marks from a recognized University.
Qualifications for SPO (Safety): Degree in Safety Engineering OR Engineering Degree (any branch) OR Degree in Physics/Chemistry OR Diploma in Engineering (any branch).
Qualifications for PO (Safety): Degree/Diploma/Certificate in Industrial Safety recognized by State Govt. (requirements may vary based on base degree/diploma).
Essential qualifications (Experience):
SPO (Mechanical/Electrical): Minimum 4 years post qualification experience in Ship Building/Repair/Marine related/Port/Engineering/Govt/Semi-Govt company.
SPO (Safety): 4 years experience for Engineering Degree holders; 7 years experience for other Degree/Diploma holders in safety/production/maintenance department of a Shipyard/Factory handling HSE activities.
PO (Safety): 2 years experience for Engineering Degree holders; 5 years experience for other Degree/Diploma holders in safety/production/maintenance department of a Shipyard/Factory handling HSE activities.
Desirable: Proficiency and experience of working in a computerized environment (for Mech/Elect SPO). Proficiency in Computer Applications like AutoCAD, SAP, MS Project, MS Office etc. is preferred in general.
Experience: Experience acquired after the stipulated qualification date is considered, reckoned as on 31st December 2025. Training with remuneration is treated as experience. Certificates from registered companies/foreign companies are considered.
Salary/Stipend
Senior Project Officer:
First Year: ₹63,100/- pm Consolidated Pay + ₹3,000/- pm Compensation for Extra Hours.
Second Year: ₹65,200/- pm Consolidated Pay + ₹3,000/- pm Compensation for Extra Hours.
Third Year: ₹67,300/- pm Consolidated Pay + ₹3,000/- pm Compensation for Extra Hours.
Fourth Year: ₹69,400/- pm Consolidated Pay + ₹3,000/- pm Compensation for Extra Hours.
Fifth Year: ₹71,500/- pm Consolidated Pay + ₹3,000/- pm Compensation for Extra Hours.
Project Officer:
First Year: ₹49,100/- pm Consolidated Pay + ₹3,000/- pm Compensation for Extra Hours.
Second Year: ₹51,200/- pm Consolidated Pay + ₹3,000/- pm Compensation for Extra Hours.
Third Year: ₹53,300/- pm Consolidated Pay + ₹3,000/- pm Compensation for Extra Hours.
Fourth Year: ₹55,400/- pm Consolidated Pay + ₹3,000/- pm Compensation for Extra Hours.
Fifth Year: ₹57,500/- pm Consolidated Pay + ₹3,000/- pm Compensation for Extra Hours.
Age Limit (as on 31-12-2025)
For the post of Project Officer, age shall not exceed 30 years as on 31 December 2025.
For the post of Senior Project Officer, age shall not exceed 35 years as on 31 December 2025.
Age limit after applying all relaxations (Ex-servicemen etc.) shall not exceed 50 years.
Application Fee
Application fee of ₹400/- (Non-refundable, plus bank charges extra) should be remitted online.
Applicants belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST) are exempted from payment of application fee.

Selection Process
Selection will be through Power Point Presentation (80 marks for assessing work experience) and Personal Interview (20 marks).
Total marks for final selection: 100 marks.
CSL reserves the right to hold an objective type test for shortlisting if many applications are received. These test marks will not be used in the final rank list preparation.
Certificate verification will be conducted before the Presentation and Interview.
Rank lists will be prepared based on aggregate marks in Presentation and Interview, with tie-breaking based on Presentation marks first, then age seniority.
General Information/Instructions
The posts are purely temporary on a contract basis for a maximum period of five years.
Posting shall be at CSL AN Ship Repair Unit (CANSRU), Sri Vijaya Puram, Andaman & Nicobar Islands/ any other CSL units/project sites as desired by CSL.
The posts are not identified as suitable for Persons with Disabilities (PwBD) due to job requirements (working at heights, confined spaces, etc.).

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the selection process.
