Under the revised norms, banks can lend only to REITs and InvITs registered with and regulated by SEBI and listed on recognised Stock Exchanges. For REITs, lending is restricted to listed trusts where at least 80% of assets comprise cash-generating properties operational for more than one year; similarly, InvITs must have at least 80% of assets invested in completed, revenue-generating infrastructure projects with positive cash flows for one-plus year.
