DEI Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria and Qualification
Eligibility is post-specific. Teaching post qualifications are governed by the UGC Regulations, 2018 (and subsequent amendments) or NCTE/AICTE norms, as applicable. Key common conditions:
- Applicants must be Indian nationals (including Persons of Indian Origin) or Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs).
- A minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) at the master's level is the essential qualification for direct recruitment of teachers and equivalent cadres at any level.
- A 5% relaxation at Bachelor's and Master's level is allowed for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and specified categories of Persons with Disabilities, based on qualifying marks only (no grace marks).
- NET/SLET/SET remains the minimum eligibility for Assistant Professor and equivalent posts wherever prescribed under UGC Regulations 2018, except for candidates who hold a Ph.D. awarded under specified UGC Ph.D. Regulations and who satisfy the listed conditions (regular-mode Ph.D., evaluation by two external examiners, open viva-voce, two research papers with at least one in a refereed journal, and two conference presentations).
- Teaching posts in DEI P.V. Girls' Intermediate College are open only to female candidates.
- Teaching and non-teaching posts in DEI R.E.I. Intermediate College, and non-teaching posts in DEI Technical College, are open only to male candidates.
- Employed applicants must apply through proper channel or submit a No Objection Certificate from their employer before the Seminar-cum-Presentation/Aptitude Test/Trade Test/Interview.

Age Limit: The notification does not prescribe a general upper age limit for most posts. The only age-related condition specified is for the Principal post at DEI R.E.I. Intermediate College, where the candidate should not be below 30 years under one of the eligibility routes.

Pay is fixed as per the UGC/7th CPC-aligned Pay Level applicable to each post. For teaching posts on the main campus:

DEI Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
Selection is based on a Seminar-cum-Presentation, Aptitude Test, Trade Test, or Interview, depending on the post, conducted on the recommendation of the Institute's Screening Committee. The notification clarifies that not all applicants are necessarily called for this stage, and no TA/DA is admissible for attending it. Candidates must carry original documents, self-attested annexures, and photographs for verification at this stage; failure to produce these may result in the candidate not being allowed to appear.
