Selected candidates will be initially appointed on probation for two years at Avadi (Chennai, Tamil Nadu), Yeddumailaram (Telangana), or Meenambakkam (Chennai, Tamil Nadu), and are liable to serve anywhere within India, including field and remote locations, as per extant Government of India rules.
Terms of Posting
Each candidate can submit only one application, indicating a specific trade and specific posting station. If a candidate submits more than one application, all applications submitted by that candidate will be summarily rejected without assigning any cause. No change of post or posting station will be entertained after submission. However, DGQA reserves the right to post a candidate anywhere in India based on organisational requirement or order of merit.

Candidates possessing any additional qualification, or pursuing one as on the application closing date, may mention this in the application form. However, only the essential ITI qualification is required for the post; any higher qualification possessed must still be disclosed.
Age Limit
Candidates must be between 18 and 27 years of age as on the application closing date. Date of birth must be as recorded in the 10th/Matriculation Certificate, or a Birth Certificate issued by a Competent Authority, or the e-PPO for Ex-servicemen. Aadhaar Card will not be accepted as proof of date of birth.

Candidature in a reserved category remains provisional until the veracity of supporting documents is confirmed by the appointing authority. SC/ST/EWS/PwBD/ESM candidates must enclose the latest copy of a caste certificate or other relevant certificate issued by a competent authority (District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate, Collector, Deputy Commissioner, or equivalent officer not below the rank of First Class Stipendiary Magistrate; or a Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar).
Salary / Pay Scale
Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Matrix Level-1 (₹18,000–56,900) as per the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. Recruited candidates will also be entitled to other benefits including dearness allowance, house rent allowance, transport allowance, children education allowance, leave travel concession, medical facilities, CSD facilities, and other allowances/advances as per extant Government of India rules. Candidates will be covered under the National Pension Scheme (NPS)/Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) as per extant rules.
Disqualification
A person shall not be eligible for appointment if they have entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a living spouse, or if they, having a living spouse, have entered into or contracted a marriage with any other person - unless the Government is satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law applicable and grants an exemption. Candidates who are convicted or currently under trial for association with criminal offences are also disqualified.
Medical Fitness
Candidates must be in good mental and physical health, free from any physical deformity that may interfere with efficient discharge of duties. Provisionally shortlisted candidates must undergo a medical examination at a Government hospital before an appointment offer is issued; candidates found unfit will not be offered appointment. Candidates diagnosed with night blindness or colour blindness will be declared medically unfit and will not be considered for selection or appointment at any stage, irrespective of their performance in the recruitment process. The decision of the designated Medical Board/Medical Officer on visual defects is final and binding.
Selection Process
Selection consists of a Written Test followed by a Trade Test for shortlisted candidates.
Written Test
The written test is objective, multiple-choice type, with no negative marking for wrong answers. It is conducted in a single session - either forenoon or afternoon. Question paper syllabus is based on the Tenth Class/Matriculation level of a Central or State Board.

Parts (i), (ii), and (iv) will be set in both English and Hindi. Part (iii) will be in English only.
Trade Test
Candidates shortlisted based on written test marks and category of reservation will be called for a Trade Test worth 100 marks. The minimum qualifying mark in the Trade Test is 40.
Merit List and Tie-Breaking
After both the written test and trade test are completed, a merit list will be prepared based on trade and establishment. In case two or more candidates score equal marks (trade-cum-station wise), ties will be resolved in the following order:
- Date of birth - older candidates placed higher.
- Higher marks in Numerical Aptitude, then Reasoning, then General Awareness.
Selected candidates will be informed of their selection only after the process is complete; no correspondence will be entertained in this regard. Success in the examination does not confer a right to appointment unless the Government, after due enquiry, is satisfied that the candidate is suitable in all respects for the post.
Location and Date of Examination
The examination will be conducted in Avadi, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The exact date, time, and venue will be mentioned in the Admit Card.

Candidates working in Government Service or a Public Sector Undertaking must forward their application through proper channel, along with a certificate from their Head of Office/Establishment confirming that no vigilance or disciplinary case is pending or contemplated against them, and that they have no objection to their release if selected. Important Instructions
