Eligibility Criteria
- Qualifications (Chief LADC): Minimum 10 years of practice in Session Court is mandatory.
- Qualifications (Deputy Chief LADC): Minimum 07 years of practice in Session Court is mandatory.
- Qualifications (Assistant LADC): Minimum 0 to 03 years of practice in Judicial Magistrate level court is mandatory.
- Desirable: LL.M. Degree (if available), Ph.D. in Law (if available), Knowledge of Information Technology and Legal Software Tools.
- Experience: Relevant experience related to practice on the Criminal side.
Salary/Stipend
- Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel: Rs. 65,000/- per month (Honorarium) for Category C districts.
- Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel: Rs. 45,000/- per month (Honorarium) for Category C districts.
- Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel: Rs. 25,000/- per month (Honorarium) for Category C districts.
- The selected advocates cannot engage in any private practice during the contract period.
- The salary, terms, and conditions are subject to NALSA Modified Scheme 2022 and MPSLSA SOP guidelines.

Selection Process
- Selection is based on merit, taking into account knowledge, skills, practice, and experience.
- A Screening Committee will examine the applications as per rules; incomplete or false applications will be rejected.
- A list of eligible and ineligible candidates will be pasted on the DLSA Dhar notice board.
- Eligible candidates will be called for a separate interview as per the applied post, before a selection committee chaired by the Principal District & Sessions Judge.
- The final appointment is subject to the approval of the Executive Chairman, MPSLSA, Jabalpur.
General Information/Instructions
- The engagement is on a contractual basis initially for a period of two years, with a stipulation for extension on a yearly basis subject to satisfactory performance.
- The number of posts may be increased or decreased as per the requirements and instructions of the MPSLSA, Jabalpur.
- Selected advocates cannot engage in any private practice or take other retainerships during the contract period.
- Chief and Deputy LADC are eligible for 15 days' leave in a calendar year pro-rata, while Assistant LADC are eligible for 12 days.
- Performance of every human resource shall be assessed every six months.
