Eligibility Criteria
- Qualifications for Chief LADC: Practice in Criminal law for at least 10 years; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Ability to work effectively and efficiently with others with capability to lead.
- Qualifications for Deputy Chief LADC: Practice in Criminal law for at least 7 years; Excellent oral and written communication skills; IT Knowledge with proficiency in work.
- Qualifications for Assistant LADC: Practice in criminal law from 0 to 3 years; Good oral and written communication skills; IT Knowledge with high proficiency in work.
- Essential qualifications: A law degree is an implicit requirement for practice.
- Desirable: LL.M. Degree, Ph.D. in Law, Knowledge of Information Technology and Legal Software Tools are additional qualifications that can be submitted.
- Experience: Varies by post as listed above. Candidates must have handled minimum numbers of cases (e.g., Chief LADC must have handled at least 30 criminal trials in Sessions Courts).
Salary/Stipend
- For a Category C district (which includes Mandla), the determined honorarium (retainership fee) per month is:
- Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel: ₹65,000/-
- Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel: ₹45,000/- each
- Assistant Legal Aid Defense Counsel: ₹25,000/- each
- The selected advocates will not be able to engage in any other form of private practice during the contract period.

Selection Process
- Applications will be scrutinized according to the rules. Incomplete or false information applications will be rejected.
- A list of eligible and ineligible candidates will be pasted on the DLSA, Mandla notice board.
- Eligible candidates will be called for an Interview before a selection committee chaired by the Principal District & Sessions Judge.
- Selection is purely based on merit, taking into account knowledge, skills, practice, and experience.
- The selection committee's merit list will be sent to the M.P. State Legal Services Authority, Jabalpur, for final approval.
- Candidates must provide self-attested copies of judgments, orders, memos/vakalatnamas, etc., for evaluation of case handling experience.
General Information/Instructions
- The posts are on a contract basis under the "Legal Aid Defense Counsel System (LADCS)" model.
- Each post requires a separate application form to be filled.
- The number of posts may be increased or decreased as per the instructions of the M.P. State Legal Services Authority.
- The authority reserves the right to cancel the advertisement at any time.
- Selected candidates shall work under the vigilance of DLSA, Mandla, and MPSLSA, Jabalpur.
- Leave entitlement is 15 days per calendar year pro-rata for Chief/Deputy LADC and 12 days for Assistant LADC/staff.
