The tenure of fellowship will be initially for a period of 2 years and may be extended further and upgraded to SRF as per rules. Selected candidate(s) may be allowed to register for PhD with any recognized University/Institution during the tenure of fellowship.
DRDO JRF Selection Process
The selection process comprises screening of applications for eligibility, a Written Test, and an Interview for qualified candidates.
- Screening: Incomplete applications will be rejected during screening. Eligible candidates are called for the selection procedure.
- Written Test: Conducted for eligible candidates reporting on the date of interview. Qualified candidates will be interviewed on the same day.
- Interview: The post will be offered solely as per the merit list prepared based on the performance in the Interview.

DRDO JRF Important Instructions
- Late arriving candidates will not be allowed to participate in the walk-in interview process.
- No TA/DA shall be paid for attending the interview or at the time of joining if selected.
- Electronic items like mobile phones, pen drives, laptops, optical disks, and smart watches are strictly not allowed inside the CAIR Campus.
- No vehicle parking facility is provided for candidates, and public parking is not available near the venue; candidates are advised to utilize public transport.
- Offer of award of Fellowship does not confer any right for absorption in DRDO under any circumstances.
