ESIC Medical College and Hospital, Andheri East, Mumbai has released Advertisement No. 11/2026 (File No.: A/11/2025-PGI-ADH, dated 11 July 2026) inviting eligible candidates for the contract-basis recruitment of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Senior Resident, and Part-Time Homeopathy Physician across multiple medical departments. Selection is through an offline walk-in interview at the Dean's Office of the college. The engagement is for one year, extendable up to three years, subject to satisfactory performance, or till a regular faculty member joins - whichever is earlier.

Part-Time Homeopathy Physician Vacancy

Note: The notification clarifies that these vacancies are provisional and may increase or decrease based on actual teaching and patient-care requirements. The competent authority reserves the right to amend, cancel, or change the advertisement without prior notice.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

• Faculty posts (Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor): Not exceeding 68 years as on 30 June 2026, calculated as on the date of interview.
• Senior Resident: Not exceeding 45 years as on 30 June 2026.
• Homeopathy Physician: Not exceeding 35 years as on the date of interview. Age relaxation of 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

Experience Criteria

As per the latest NMC (National Medical Commission) Gazette notification dated 30 June 2025, applicable to all advertised faculty and Senior Resident posts.

Educational Qualification

• Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Senior Resident: As per the latest NMC Gazette notification dated 30 June 2026 for the respective advertised post. The notification does not list subject-specific qualification details separately; candidates are advised to refer to the applicable NMC norms.
• Homeopathy Physician: BHMS degree from a recognized university. Preference will be given to candidates with a PG qualification. Must be registered with the Maharashtra Medical Council or the Medical Council of India (candidates registered in another state must register with the Maharashtra Medical Council at the time of joining).

All candidates must hold updated Medical Registration (NMC or State Medical Council) covering their post-MBBS/MD/MS qualifications. If updated registration is not available, an "Applied for" document copy must be submitted at the time of interview, failing which the candidate may not be interviewed or their result may be withheld.

Salary (Pay and Allowances)

Other allowances for faculty and Senior Resident posts include DA, NPA, TA, and HRA. Retired employees/pensioners engaged on contract may draw full pay without deduction and can continue to receive pension and dearness relief during the contract period, as this is not treated as re-employment under the Central Civil Services (Fixation of Pay of Re-employed Pensioner) Orders, 1986.

Application Fee

Fee must be paid through a Demand Draft in favour of "ESI Fund Account No.1", payable at Mumbai. The fee, once paid, will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Selection Process

• Selection is based on the candidate's acquired academic credentials and performance in the interview before the selection board.
• The result, including the waiting list, will be displayed in the Recruitment section of www.esic.gov.in.
• The Offer of Appointment will be sent through email only.
• Selected candidates must join within the time prescribed in the offer letter; failure to do so will result in the offer being issued to a waitlisted candidate.

Required Documents

Self-attested copies of the following documents must be attached with the application form and produced in original for verification before the interview or before the offer of appointment is generated:

1. Certificate of passing Class 10th, for proof of Date of Birth
2. All mark sheets, attempt details, and degree certificate of MBBS
3. All mark sheets, attempt details, and degree certificate of MD/MS/DNB/other relevant examination
4. Valid EWS/OBC/SC/ST/PwD certificate in the format prescribed for Central Government jobs, wherever applicable
5. Updated State/NMC Medical Registration Certificate
6. Proof of publication(s)
7. Experience certificate
8. Recent passport-size photograph
9. Relieving/NOC certificate from previous or current employer, if applicable
10. Aadhar Card
11. Completion certificate of ICMR/NMC-approved Basic Course in Biomedical Research, if any
12. NMC-approved Revised Basic Course Workshop / Basic Course in Medical Education Workshop certificate, if any

How to Apply

This is a walk-in / offline interview-based recruitment. There is no online application portal mentioned in the notification. Candidates should follow these steps:

1. Download and fill the Original Application Form in the prescribed format (the notification does not specify a direct download link for the form; check the official ESIC website for the format).
2. Attach self-attested copies of all required documents listed above.
3. Prepare the original Demand Draft as the interview fee (if applicable to your category), in favour of "ESI Fund Account No.1", payable at Mumbai.
4. Report to the Dean Office, 5th Floor, ESIC Medical College & Hospital, MIDC, Andheri East, Mumbai, between 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM on your department's scheduled interview date (24, 25, or 26 July 2026).
5. Carry all original documents for verification along with the application form and Demand Draft.

Applications must be submitted separately for each post and strictly in the prescribed format. Applications in any other format, or incomplete applications, will be summarily rejected.

Important Instructions and Terms of Contract

• The engagement is for 1 year, extendable up to 3 years, subject to satisfactory performance, or until a regular faculty member joins - whichever is earlier.
• The maximum tenure for teaching faculty is till 70 years of age.
• Either side may terminate the contract with one month's prior notice. In case of spot resignation by the selected candidate, one month's salary must be deposited to the ESI Account through challan.
• No claim for service benefits such as PF, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Allowance, Medical Benefits, Seniority, or Promotion will be admissible.
• Unauthorized absence beyond 7 days will be treated as voluntary abandonment of the engagement and will result in automatic termination. Attendance must be marked manually as well as on the Aadhar Enabled Bio-metric Attendance System (AEBAS) daily.
• No private practice is allowed in any capacity after joining as teaching faculty/Senior Resident.
• Candidates working in Government/Autonomous/Statutory institutions should preferably carry an NOC from their employer at the time of interview; if unavailable, a copy of the "applied for NOC" must be submitted.
• Mere submission of an application does not confer any right to be interviewed; candidates must report on the scheduled date and time with all required documents.
• No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview or for submission of documents.
• The Dean, ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Andheri East, Mumbai, reserves the right to cancel or postpone the recruitment process at any stage, and such a decision will be binding on all concerned.
