Applying early still makes sense. The form needs DigiLocker authentication, document uploads, paper and city selection and online payment, and the portal can be slow close to a deadline. How to Fill the GATE 2027 Application Form
- Create or update a verified DigiLocker account.
- Go to gate2027.iitm.ac.in and open the GOAPS application portal.
- Choose to register or apply through DigiLocker, log in and give consent to fetch your details.
- Select a verified ID from DigiLocker that has the correct name and date of birth.
- Fill in the remaining details: parent or guardian information, communication address and educational qualification.
- Select your GATE test paper, or a permitted two-paper combination.
- Select six examination cities from the same zone.
- Upload your photograph, signature, photo ID and any applicable certificates.
- Pay the application fee online.
- Preview the form, check every detail and submit it.
- Download the application form PDF and keep it safe.
Application data cannot be modified once you complete the online process up to PDF generation, apart from the correction window described below. Check every field before you submit.

How to Check GATE 2027 Application Status
Log in to the application portal after paying the fee. The status shown can be one of these:

- Under scrutiny

If your form is marked defective, log in, read the defect details and correct them within the time allowed by the organisers.
Important Instructions for Applicants
- Use only the official GATE 2027 website and GOAPS portal to apply.
- One email ID can be used for one application only. Do not create duplicate applications, even if the portal is slow.
- Do not upload the photograph in the signature field or the other way round; this can make the form defective.
- If you face a login or DigiLocker consent error, use the video guides on the official guideline page or contact the helpdesk instead of resubmitting.
- If your internet drops, log in again and continue from where you stopped.
