Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification for Psychiatrist/ MBBS Doctor: Doctors should essential be qualified as a MBBS and also hold a training certificate in addiction medicine from a recognized institute.
• Qualification for Nurse (ANM): Must have passed EITHER 18/24 months MPHA(F) course conducted in the State (recognized by AP Nursing& Midwives Council). OR Two Years Intermediate Vocational Multi Purpose Health Worker (Female) Course and have completed one year Clinical Training in selected Government Hospital in which intermediate [Vocational MPHW(F)] students have been permitted to undergo clinical training. or Completed one year Apprenticeship Training in identified hospitals and awarded “Apprenticeship Completion Certificate” by the Board of Apprenticeship training, Gol. Southern Region, Chennai. Must be registered in AP Auxiliary Nurse and Midwifery and Health Visitors Council. Must be registered in A.P. Para Medical Board in respect of candidates who have passed Intermediate Vocational Multi Purpose Health Worker (F) Course. Note: BSc (Nursing), GNM and Any other than the qualifications noted Above are not eligible.
• Qualification for Counselor: Candidate must be Graduate (Degree) in any discipline with 3 years experience in the field. He/She must hold a certificate of 3 months training course in De-addiction counseling by National Institute of Social Defense(NISD) and should have knowledge of English as well as one regional language.
• Qualification for Ward Boy: Candidate must pass 8th Class preferably experienced in such centers, Ward boy employed in an IRCA must get trained by the National Institute of Social Defense (NISD).
• Experience for Counselor: 3 years experience in the field.
• Experience for Ward Boy: preferably experienced in such centers.

Salary/ Stipend

• Psychiatrist/ MBBS Doctor: 60,000/-per month
• Nurse(ANM): 11,000/-per month
• Counselor: 12,500/-per month
• Ward Boy: 11,000/-per month

Age Limit (as on 01-07-2025)

• OC Candidates: 42 years Should not born before 02.07.1983
• SC, ST & BC Candidates: 47 years Should not born before 02.07.1978
• Ex-Servicemen & PH Categories: 50 years Should not born before 02.07.1975
• Minimum age for applying for the post is 18years as on the date of Issue of notification

Application Fee

• For OC candidates =Rs.250/-
• For/SC/ST/BC = Rs.200.
• Physically Challenged candidates= Exempted.

Selection Process

• The process for selection of candidates for the said posts will be made purely based on merit duly following the Rule of Reservation.
• Weightage : a)90 marks based on merit obtained in qualifying examination i.e., PG Degree/PG Diploma/ MPHA(F)/ MPHW(F)/ Degree/ 8th Class [eg: If the candidate secured 68% in the qualifying examination then she will be given 61.2 marks].
• b)10 marks to the seniority from the year of passing qualifying examination i.e.,1mark for each completed year after acquiring requisite qualification. (eg: If the candidate passed in 2016, then he/she will be given 9 marks) (The cut-off date for calculating marks for seniority is the date of notification)

General Information / Instructions

• The number of posts notified above in this recruitment are subject to increase / decrease based on the directions issued by the Government of AP from time to time.
• All the Rights are reserved to the District Selection Committee, Ananthapuramu to cancel or reschedule the recruitment process at any time without any notice.
• Eligibility: Both Male & Female candidates are eligible to apply for the posts Psychiatrist / MBBS doctor and Counsellor, Only Female candidates are eligible to apply for the post of Nurse (ANM), Only Male candidates are eligible to apply for the post of Ward Boy.
• Tenure of appointment and important conditions: The tenure for the contract posts is initially one year from the date of joining in the post and may be extended for further period as per the instructions issued by the Government from time to time. The District Selection Committee reserves all the rights to terminate the contract services of any candidate /candidates at any time with one month notice or as per directions of the Government from time to time.

• Applications in prescribed proforma are invited from eligible candidates for recruitment to the post of Psychiatrist / MBBS Doctor, Nurse(ANM), Counselors, Ward Boy to work on contract basis in Drug De-addiction Centre, Govt. General Hospital, Ananthapuramu.
• The interested candidates can be downloaded the Application form and eligibility details through the Ananthapuramu District official website http://ananthapuramu.ap.gov.in
• Filled in applications shall be submitted in the O/o Principal, Govt. Medical College, Ananthapuramu from 31 December 2025 to 07 January 2026 in all working days (10:00AM to 05:00PM) along with all required certificates.
• Last date for submission of filled in applications is 07 January 2026 by 05:00PM.
• The filled-in application forms shall be submitted in person / registered post duly enclosing the following certificates related to their respective posts with self attestation, at O/o. Principal, Govt. Medical College, Ananthapuramu from 31 December 2025 to 07 January 2026 in all working days (10:30AM to 05:00 PM). The filled-in applications without signature of the candidate or without any of the following certificates will be summarily rejected without further notice.
• Applicant must enclose a demand draft towards application processing fee in favour of Principal, Government Medical College, Ananthapuramu (if candidate is eligible for more than one post he / she is required to enclose demand draft for each post and apply for each post separately).
