Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification:
- Essential: Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science or Library Science obtained from any University or Institution established or incorporated by or under the Central or State Act in India; or any other educational institution recognised as such or declared to be deemed to be a University under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956
- Computer Knowledge: Basic knowledge of computer application as prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967
- Language: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both
Citizenship:
- Candidate should be citizen of India or possess nationality as per Rule-7 of Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967
Desirable:
- Computer certificate/marksheet from any training institute OR Computer Diploma/Degree/Certificate course from government recognized university/institution
- Computer as a subject in Degree/Diploma curriculum OR Standard 10 or 12 passed with Computer as subject
- Candidates without computer certificate can also apply but must submit the certificate before appointment
Salary/Stipend
- Library Clerk, Class-3:
- First 5 years: Rs. 26,000/- per month (Fixed pay)
- After 5 years (if services are satisfactory): Rs. 19,900/- to Rs. 63,200/- (Level-2, 7th Pay Commission)

- First 5 years: Rs. 26,000/- per month (Fixed pay)
- After 5 years (if services are satisfactory): Rs. 25,500/- to Rs. 81,100/- (Level-4, 7th Pay Commission)

Selection Process
- Selection will be based on MCQ-CBRT/OMR (Computer Based Response Test/Optical Mark Recognition) competitive examination
- Examination will be conducted in one stage with two parts: Part-A and Part-B
- Part-A (60 Marks):
- Reasoning & Data Interpretation: 30 questions, 30 marks
- Quantitative Aptitude: 30 questions, 30 marks
- Part-B (150 Marks):
- Constitution of India, Current Affairs, Gujarati & English Comprehension: 30 marks
- Questions related to Technical Qualification and its applications: 120 marks
- Total Questions: 210 (Part-A: 60, Part-B: 150)
- Total Duration: 3 hours (180 minutes) for both parts combined
- Negative Marking: 1/4 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer
- Minimum Qualifying Marks: 40% in Part-A and 40% in Part-B (for all categories)
- Exam will be conducted in both Gujarati and English languages
- Final selection will be based on merit in the competitive examination

- Step 9: Upload Photo (5 cm height x 3.6 cm width) and Signature (2.5 cm height x 7.5 cm width) in JPG format (max 15 KB)
