Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications
- Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: Diploma in the respective branch of Engineering from Recognized State Board of Technical Education
- General Stream Graduate Apprentices: Graduation (B.Com/B.Sc./B.C.A) in the respective discipline from Recognized University
- Engineering Graduate Apprentices: B.Tech./B.E. in the respective discipline from Recognized Board/University
Essential Qualifications
- The candidates should have passed regular and full time University Degree, Diploma & Degree in Engineering in the respective Discipline/Branch, from a recognized Board/University
- The candidates passed their respective course in the year 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025 are only eligible to apply
- Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination and possessing Original/Provisional certificates as on 31.12.2025 are only eligible
Experience
- Candidates who have undergone/undergoing or already registered in NATS Contract of Apprentice elsewhere are not eligible to apply
- Candidates with work experience of one or more years are not eligible to apply
Stipend
- The candidates selected for engagement as Apprentices shall be paid monthly stipend as per the Apprentices Act 1961 & Rules and subsequent amendments
- The stipend amount is determined as per Government of India guidelines under the Apprentices Act 1961
Age Limit (as on 31/12/2025)
- Minimum Age: 18 years as on 31/12/2025
- Maximum Age: 26 years as on 31/12/2025 for General/EWS candidates
- Age Relaxation: Relaxation of upper age limit to SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD candidates shall be extended as per Government guidelines
Important Dates
Selection Process
- The selection of the candidate will be on the merit basis as per marks scored in the prescribed qualification only i.e Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Graduation in general stream
- There will be no written test or interview
- Merit will be determined based on percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination
- The list of the candidates shortlisted in the selection process shall be hosted on HAL Website www.hal-india.co.in
- Candidates are advised to keep visiting HAL website regularly for updates
General Information/Instructions
Reservations
- The reservations for engagement of Apprentices shall be applicable for EWS, OBC(NCL), SC, ST and PwBD as per the Apprentices Act 1961/Government Guidelines/HAL Guidelines
- OBC candidates should produce valid Non-Creamy Layer Certificate
Nationality
- Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply
NATS Portal Registration
- The Candidates should register himself/herself on NATS 2.0 portal and obtain system generated Registration Number
- Details of Registration in NATS Portal must be submitted at the time of walk-in
Important Instructions
- Before appearing for the walk-in to apply for Apprenticeship, the candidates should ensure that they meet the requisite eligibility criteria
- Candidates should also ensure that the particulars furnished by him/her in the application at the time of document verification are true/correct in all aspects
- In case of submission of any false/incorrect information or suppression of any facts by any of the candidates or if any discrepancy is found during the entire engagement process/training period, the candidature of the respective Candidate shall be cancelled/terminated with immediate effect
- Canvassing in any form shall lead to disqualification of the candidature
- HAL reserves all the right to cancel/restrict/modify the notification criteria and/or the Selection Process thereunder, without issuing any further notice or assigning any reason whatsoever
- The number of vacancies can be modified as per the discretion of the Company
- The decision of HAL in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, selection etc., will be final and binding on the candidates
- After completion of Apprenticeship Training, the Apprenticeship contract will be terminated and there will be no obligation on HAL, Barrackpore Division to offer any employment
- The candidate has to make his/her own arrangements for accommodation & travelling for the Walk-in process/joining the apprenticeship

Documents Required for Verification (Original)
- Valid Aadhaar Card
- SSC/SSLC/10th Certificate
- Birth Certificate (in case date of birth is not mentioned in SSC/SSLC/10th Certificate)
- Degree/Diploma Pass Certificate & Marks Sheet (all semesters or consolidated mark sheet)
- In case of GPA/CGPA etc, Institute/University guidelines for conversion to percentage
- Original/provisional Certificate of Qualifying Degree/Diploma
- Caste Certificate (SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, PwBD) if applicable
Documents for Submission
- One set of photo copy of all the above Certificates
- Recent passport size photographs (3 copies)
- Details of Registration in NATS Portal
