HCSL Operator Recruitment 2025 Vacancy Details
Hooghly Cochin Shipyard Limited invites online applications for the following two posts on a contract basis. The number of vacancies may be increased or decreased.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be Indian citizens.
- For Operator (Crane):
- Education: Pass in SSLC and ITI –NTC (National Trade Certificate) in the trade of Fitter/Machinist/Electrician/Electronic Mechanic.
- Experience: Minimum of three years post qualification experience/training in operating cranes in a relevant company (Shipbuilding, Engineering, Logistics, Government/Semi-Government).
- Desirable: Radio remote operation, electrical maintenance of cranes, working knowledge in Hindi/Bengali.
- For Operator (MHE & Transporter):
- Education: Pass in SSLC and ITI –NTC (National Trade Certificate) in any trade.
- Experience: Minimum of three years post qualification experience/training in operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
- Desirable: Good communication skills and working knowledge in Hindi/Bengali.
- Experience acquired after the date of passing the qualification shall only be considered.
Salary/Stipend
- The consolidated pay for candidates meeting the minimum experience requirement (3 years) is ₹23,300/- per month.
- They are also eligible for compensation for extra hours of work up to ₹5,830/- per month.
- Higher pay may be offered to candidates with experience beyond the minimum 3 years, subject to technical review.
Age Limit (as on 29-12-2025)
- The upper age limit prescribed for the posts shall not exceed 45 years.
- Applicants should be born on or after 30 December 1980.
- Age relaxation for Ex-servicemen is applicable as per Government of India Guidelines, but the total age shall not exceed 50 years.
Application Fee
- An application fee of ₹300/- (Non-refundable, plus bank charges extra) should be remitted using online payment options (Debit card/Credit card/Internet Banking/wallets/UPI etc.).
- The fee is applicable to all candidates except those belonging to the SC/ST category.
- Applications will only be considered upon receipt of the application fee (if applicable).

Selection Process
- The method of selection involves two phases:
- Phase I: Objective Type Test (30 marks) - General (10) and Trade related (20).
- Phase II: Practical Test (70 marks) - Qualifying grades converted into marks.
- The objective test will be 35 minutes duration with 30 MCQs. There will be no negative marks.
- Minimum pass marks in each test for unreserved candidates is 50% (Hooghly CSL may relax if candidates are insufficient).
- Candidates must pass certificate verification to be shortlisted for the Practical test.

- Online application facility is available from 09.12.2025 to 29.12.2025.
- Applicants should not submit more than one application.
- All certificates for age, qualification, experience, caste, and a recent photograph must be uploaded in the online portal.
- Applicants need not send the online application printout/certificates/fee by post.
- A printout of the online application with the unique registration number should be retained for future correspondence.
Instructions
- The posts are purely temporary/contractual in nature for a maximum period of five years.
- The job involves working at heights and materials handling; PwBD candidates should not apply due to safety risks.
- No TA/DA shall be paid for attending the selection process.
