Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal (IISER Bhopal) has announced 1 vacancy for the Institute Post-Doctoral Fellow (IPDF) post on a contract basis under advertisement number IISERB/DoFA/2026/31. The engagement is initially for one year with the possibility of extension for another year based on satisfactory performance. Candidates holding a PhD in life sciences or a related area can apply. The notified pay is Rs. 67,000 per month + HRA, while candidates awaiting PhD award receive Rs. 35,000 per month + HRA until degree submission. Who Can Apply

Candidates must meet the essential qualification requirements prescribed for the position.

• Essential Qualification: PhD in life sciences or a related area; at least one first-author research publication; hands-on experience in molecular and cell biology. Ph.D. scholars after submission of thesis are also eligible to apply, provided they submit the provisional or degree certificate within 6 months from the date of appointment.
• Desirable Qualification: Experience in non-coding RNA biology; RNA isolation and expression analysis; qRT-PCR; RNA-seq or small-RNA-seq data analysis; miRNA/lncRNA/circRNA target prediction; RNA-RNA or RNA-protein interaction assays; reporter assays; gene knockdown or overexpression.

Pay and Tenure

The selected fellow will receive a fellowship of Rs. 67,000/- per month plus House Rent Allowance as per Institute rules. Candidates who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting the award of the PhD degree or provisional degree will be paid a reduced fellowship of Rs. 35,000/- per month plus HRA until the degree is submitted, after which the full fellowship is restored effective from the award date. Accommodation is not provided by the Institute. IPDFs are required to maintain a mandatory medical insurance policy of a minimum of Rs. 1 lakh throughout the fellowship period.

Selection and Interview
