IIT (BHU) Recruitment 2026 Vacancy Details
Note: 1 seat under Junior Superintendent (26118) is reserved for a PwBD candidate. Among the five Junior Technician groups (26119–26123) combined, 1 seat is reserved for a PwBD candidate. The Institute reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies, or postpone/cancel the recruitment for any or all posts.
IIT (BHU) Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Note: Pay Level equivalency for experience at other organizations (State Govt./PSU/etc.) will be examined and decided by the Competent Authority of the Institute based on nature of duties, responsibilities, and overall parity of the post.
IIT (BHU) Recruitment 2026 Age Limit
Note: Age is reckoned as on the last date of submission of the online application (24 September 2026). Reservation and age relaxation apply as per Government of India rules/norms.
IIT (BHU) Recruitment 2026 Pay Level
In addition to the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, posts carry usual allowances at par with those admissible under IIT (BHU) rules for the corresponding Pay Matrix. Appointment is on regular terms with a probation period.
IIT (BHU) Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
- Applications are screened based on the data submitted in the online form; more stringent criteria than the advertised minimum may be applied for shortlisting, and candidates with higher qualification/merit may be preferred.
- The selection process may include a Screening Test/Written Test/Presentation/Group Discussion/Personal Interview, as applicable to each post; the exact stages and schedule are not detailed in the notification and will be emailed to shortlisted candidates.
- Mere eligibility does not entitle a candidate to be called for the selection process.
- The Institute may call only the requisite number of candidates for the selection process after shortlisting on qualification, suitability, and experience.
- The Institute reserves the right to offer a post on contract basis instead of a regular post, depending on qualification, experience, and/or performance in the selection process.
- Lists of shortlisted and non-shortlisted applicants (with application numbers and reasons) will be published on the Institute website; representations on shortlisting must be submitted within 5 days of publication.
How to Apply for IIT (BHU) Recruitment 2026
- Visit the SAMARTH Portal: https://iitbhunt.samarth.edu.in
- Register and fill in the online application form with correct personal, educational, and experience details.
- Pay the applicable application fee online (Internet Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card/UPI).
- Submit the application on or before 24 September 2026, 5:00 PM. No change/correction is allowed after submission.
- Take a printout of the submitted application form and preserve it for future reference (needed at document verification/interview).
- Send the printout, along with self-attested copies of all supporting documents and the experience certificate (Annexure-A format), by Speed Post to: The Registrar, IIT (BHU), Varanasi – 221005, within 7 days of the online application closing.
- Superscribe the sealed envelope with the application form number, advertisement number, and the name and code of the post applied for.
Important: Candidates already employed in Government/Semi-Government/Autonomous Bodies/Educational Institutions must upload a No Objection Certificate (NOC) and Vigilance Clearance while applying online, or produce these at the time of interview. If already in service, the application must be forwarded through Proper Channel by the employer within 7 days of the last date, failing which it may not be considered.

- Educational qualification certificates and mark sheets
- Experience certificate(s) in the prescribed Annexure-A format, certified by the employer/cadre-controlling authority
- SC/ST/OBC caste certificate in the Government of India prescribed format (OBC certificate must confirm non-creamy-layer status, not older than 6 months)
- NOC and Vigilance Clearance, for candidates currently in Government/Autonomous Body/Educational Institution service

Application Fee
Fee once paid is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against any other application or selection.
Other Conditions
- Posts reserved for special-ability persons (OH, VI, HH) may be filled by other special-ability categories if suitable candidates in the advertised category are unavailable.
- Correspondence for all recruitment stages (screening test/written test/presentation/GD/interview schedules) will be sent only via the registered email; no hard-copy letters will be sent.
- Furnishing false or wrong information at any stage will result in cancellation of candidature.
- Degree certificates must be from a recognized University/Institute.
- Canvassing in any manner will lead to disqualification.
- Any dispute related to this recruitment is subject to the jurisdiction of courts at Varanasi.
- The decision of the Director, IIT (BHU) is final in case of any ambiguity or dispute in the selection process.
