Who Can Apply
Essential Qualification: PhD in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Hydrology, or a closely related field. Candidates who have submitted their doctoral thesis may apply, subject to Institute rules. The percentage or grade points with respect to academic qualification must be a minimum of 60% or equivalent grade from graduation onwards and 55% or equivalent grade in class 10th and 12th.
Applicants must also have demonstrated research experience in at least two of the following areas:
- Application of hydrological modeling
- Remote Sensing, GIS, and Surveying for Natural Disasters
- Flood inundation mapping
- Mathematical or hydrological modelling of water systems
Additional essential requirements include experience with numerical modelling and scientific programming, evidence of research ability through peer-reviewed publications or comparable scholarly outputs, and strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
Desirable Qualification:
- Hands-on experience with hydrological and hydrodynamic models for flood and drought-related applications.
- Develop data-driven hydrological forecasting models, process satellite and sensor observations, and link regional climate projections to water management systems.
- Analyze geospatial, hydrometeorological, remote-sensing, and infrastructure datasets for Indian regions.
- Publish in high-quality journals, contribute to project deliverables, and collaborate with students and research partners.
- Build AI-driven digital twin platforms by integrating machine learning emulators with supercomputing infrastructure.
