Who Can Apply
Essential Qualification: A PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil, Materials, or Chemical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, or an allied area. Candidates who have submitted their PhD thesis are also eligible to apply. Applicants must have a strong background in solid mechanics or continuum mechanics and experience with finite element analysis, demonstrated through doctoral research. Academic qualifications require a minimum of 60% or equivalent grade from graduation onwards, and 55% or equivalent grade in class 10th and 12th.
Desirable Qualification:
- Research experience with polymers or fibre-reinforced polymer composites, including constitutive modelling.
- Experience with commercial or in-house FE codes (e.g., Abaqus, ANSYS, COMSOL); experience writing user subroutines (UMAT/VUMAT) is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with thermal and mechanical characterisation (DSC, DMA) and/or strain sensing using Fibre Bragg Grating (FBG) sensors.
- Good communication skills and the ability to plan and carry out simulations and experiments independently.
Pay and Tenure
The position offers a consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs. 72,000/- for a duration of 1 year under an ARDB-funded project.
