IIT Jammu Postdoctoral Fellow Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online

Who Can Apply

Applicants must meet the following eligibility conditions specified in the notification:

• Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen.
• Educational Qualification: Must have obtained a PhD degree from a recognized University in any research area relevant to Electrical Engineering within the past 5 years on the last date of submission of application. Candidates must have secured a first class (in terms of grades, etc.) in all preceding levels with a good academic record throughout. Publications in reputed journals and conferences will be given weightage.
• Employment Status: Applicants currently in regular employment will not be considered. Scientists or researchers with temporary positions in academia or research institutions may apply, but must relinquish their current roles if selected.
• Institution Restriction: Applicants must not have completed their PhD at the same institution (host institution) where the PDF fellowship is to be awarded.
• Academic Record: Must have a proven academic record including peer-reviewed publications and recognitions.

Pay and Tenure

The selected Postdoctoral Fellow receives a fellowship of Rs. 1,08,393 per month. In addition, a contingency grant of Rs. 1,00,000 per year is provided. Travel support of up to Rs. 2,10,000 per year is limited to visa fees, one-time travel support for overseas faculty/applicants returning to India to take up the assignment, and participation in activities, events, or workshops of the Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme upon invitation from the PhD Cell, DIC. The position is full-time, non-transferable, and valid for 1 year.

Nature of Job

The selected candidate will be responsible for handling a project, carrying out research work, evaluating and mentoring PhD candidates, participating in collaborative research under the scheme, and participating in workshops and events.
