The duration of apprenticeship training is as shown in the respective trades, with a stipend prescribed under Apprenticeship Rules, 1992. Candidates must first register on the portal of Ministry of Skill Development And Entrepreneurship or National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS), noting establishment registration number E08153200007, and then submit the application in the proforma given in the advertisement on A4 size paper by speed post to The DGM (HRM), IREL (India) Limited, Chavara, Kollam District, Kerala. Applications can be submitted from 12 October 2026 until the last date of 31 October 2026. Selection is based on a merit list, document verification, and medical examination.

Who Can Apply
Qualification
Candidates must possess the specific educational qualification corresponding to the designated trade as listed in the vacancy table. Qualifications acquired through Distance Learning Mode, Part Time Mode, or Correspondence Mode are not considered.
Age
The candidate must be a minimum of 18 years and maximum 25 years of age as on the last date of application. Age relaxation is applicable up to 5 years for SC/ST categories, up to 3 years for OBC (NCL) categories, and up to 10 years for PWD categories.
Who Cannot Apply
Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing Apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 and rules made thereunder in any Govt. / Public Sector / Private Industrial Organization are NOT eligible.
Reservation
Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD is applicable as per the prescribed percentage applicable to the State of Kerala, along with relevant Government guidelines.
Stipend and Training Period
The rate of stipend for the apprentices is as prescribed under the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 and notified by the Government from time to time. During the period of training, IREL (India) Limited will not provide any other benefit or financial assistance.
How to Apply for IREL Apprentice
- Register on the portal of Ministry of Skill Development And Entrepreneurship (apprenticeshipindia.org) for Trade / Vocational apprentices or on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) of MHRD (nats.education.gov.in) for Graduate / Technician Apprentices, using establishment registration number E08153200007.
- Obtain the application proforma provided in the advertisement and type it on A4 size paper.
- Superscribe the outer cover with "APPLICATION FOR ENGAGEMENT OF APPRENTICE AGAINST NOTIFICATION NO. IREL(India) Limited / Chavara/Apprentices Engagement/2026-27 dated 12-10-2026".
- Enclose self-attested photocopies of certificates including 10th pass/Matriculation certificate, 10th/HSC mark sheet, category certificates (SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS/Disability), Income and Assets Certificate for EWS, semester-wise/year-wise mark sheets and pass certificate, documentary proof for Land Affected Category / Mining areas / peripheral villages within 10 KM radius, Nativity Certificate, and Aadhaar Card.
- Affix a passport size photograph on the space provided in the filled application form along with the documents.
- Send the completed application by post, preferably through speed post, to reach The DGM (HRM), IREL (India) Limited, Chavara, Kollam District, Kerala - 691583 on or before 31st October 2026.
Selection Process
Selection of apprentices is based on a merit list drawn from marks scored in the specified educational qualification, subject to being found "Medically Fit" by IREL (India) Limited's Medical Officer. In case of a tie in marks, the higher marks of specified educational qualification will be considered, and if still tied, seniority in date of birth will be taken.
Priority for selection is given in the following order:
- Candidates belonging to Land Affected Category (A Certificate issued by Resources Department).
- Candidates coming under the Mining area and from peripheral villages situated within 10 KM radius of IREL (India) Limited, Chavara unit.
- Wards of serving employees / Forum members.
- Belonging to Kollam District.
- Belonging to Kerala State.
- Others.
