Eligibility Criteria
- Qualifications: Ph.D. degree in a field relevant to PAMU (e.g., Condensed Matter Physics, Classical & Quantum Gravity, Fluid Mechanics, Nonlinear Dynamics, Quantum Information).
- Essential qualifications: A good academic record throughout, at least one publication in SCI journal based on the Ph.D. work. Candidates who have submitted their thesis may also apply.
- Desirable: Interests matching faculty members of PAMU.
- Experience: Age relaxation may be given to candidates with relevant experience. Experience is wherever prescribed in the rules.
Salary/Stipend
- Remuneration is as per the rules outlined in OM No.SR/S9/Z-0872018 dated 30 January 2019, and the availability of funds.
- Salary Unit: Per month (implied).

- The upper age limit shall be 35 years as of December 24, 2025.
- Usual relaxation is available for SC/ST/OBC/Women/differently abled candidates.

Selection Process
- CVs with incomplete information or without supporting documents will be summarily rejected.
- Mere fulfilling the essential qualification/experience does not guarantee selection.
- A written test in the subject area will be held, if required, to shortlist candidates for the interview depending upon the number of candidates.
- Shortlisted candidates need to make an open presentation followed by an interaction with the selectors (interview).
- Selected candidates must produce all original documents for verification at the time of joining and a medical fitness certificate.
General Information/Instructions
- The post is purely contractual, and the candidate will have no right to claim permanent employment under ISI Kolkata.
- The tenure of appointment will be up to March 31, 2026, which may be extended later based on availability of funds and performance, up to a maximum of two years.
- The Institute does not have residential facilities for contractual staff.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview or joining the post.
- The Institute reserves the right not to appoint anyone.
