Educational Qualification
- Class I Marine Engineer Officer (MEO) qualification.
- Minimum academic score considered with 30% weightage in selection.
- Desirable qualification carries 10% weightage (total academic weightage 40%).
Work Experience
- Minimum 1 year experience as Chief Engineer in coastal or foreign-going vessels (mandatory).
- Desirable experience carries 15% weightage (total work experience weightage 30%).
- Must be well-versed with ship management, navigation, cargo operations, ISM and ISPS compliance, statutory surveys and audits.
- Knowledge of organizing sailing schedules as per owner requirements.
- Preference to candidates with PSU experience in operation and management of ships.
- Preference to islanders; if qualified islanders are unavailable, post is open to others.

Salary & Benefits
- Consolidated Monthly Emolument: Rs. 1,25,000/- per month.
- Annual Increment: Up to 10% per annum based on good performance.
- Medical Benefits: Not eligible for company medical benefits.

- Termination: Either party can terminate with one month notice or payment in lieu.
Selection Criteria & Weightage
Job Profile & Key Responsibilities
- Overall in-charge and responsibility of allotted vessels.
- Supervision and monitoring of ship officers and crew.
- Supervise timely completion of repairs (dry dock and afloat).
- Ensure timely renewal of statutory and Class certificates of vessels.
- Monitor statutory survey requirements.
- Monitor fuel consumption pattern and bunkering activities.
- Monitor vessel performance (monthly, weekly, daily).
- Follow-up on repairs and maintenance with suppliers and CSL.
- Coordinate with shipping agents for pilot, customs, loading/unloading and surveys.
- Provide technical inputs in tendering process.
- Prepare monthly inspection reports and participate in Emergency Response Team.
- Monitor hazardous occurrences and review incident/accident/near-miss reports.
- Ensure Planned Maintenance System is followed as per OEM instructions.

- Character and Conduct Certificate from previous Employer.

Important Information
- Document verification will be done before allowing candidates to attend interview.
- Shortlisted candidates will receive call letters with interview date, time and venue.
