Eligibility Criteria
- Research Investigator (Regular & Contractual): At least 2nd class Post Graduate degree in Demography/Population Studies/Statistics/Economics/Mathematics/Sociology/Social Work/Psychology/Anthropology/Geography with knowledge of computer applications, plus 3 years’ experience in data collection, analysis and report writing.
- Data Assistant (Computer cum Tabulator): At least 2nd class Graduate degree with Statistics/Economics/Mathematics and experience in data handling using statistical packages like SPSS/STATA/R/SAS.
- Research Fellow–1: At least 2nd class Post Graduate degree in Demography/Population Studies/Statistics/Economics/Mathematics/Sociology/Public Health, with 4 years’ experience after post‑graduation/PhD (relaxable in deserving cases).
- Research Fellow–2: At least 2nd class Post Graduate degree in Demography/Population Studies/Statistics/Economics/Mathematics/Sociology with 1 year experience after post‑graduation (relaxable in deserving cases).
Age Limit
- Research Investigator (Regular & Contractual): 21–40 years as on last date; relaxation as per Uttar Pradesh State Government rules.
- Data Assistant: 18–40 years as on last date; relaxation as per Uttar Pradesh State Government rules.
- Research Fellow–1 and Research Fellow–2: 21–40 years as on last date; relaxation as per Uttar Pradesh State Government rules.
Application Fee
- For Research Investigator (Regular post under Advt. No. PRC/RI-R/25): Rs. 1000/- for Unreserved/OBC candidates and Rs. 700/- for SC/ST candidates; no fee for Physically Challenged candidates.
- For contractual posts (Research Investigator contractual, Data Assistant, Research Fellow–1, Research Fellow–2): No application fee is charged.
Salary / Stipend
- Research Investigator (Regular): Pay Level–7, Rs. 44,900–1,42,400 per month with allowances admissible to PRC staff as per guidelines.
- Research Investigator (Contractual): Consolidated fixed pay of Rs. 75,115 per month plus allowances admissible to PRC contractual staff.
- Data Assistant/Computer cum Tabulator: Consolidated fixed pay of Rs. 42,465 per month plus admissible contractual allowances.
- Research Fellow–1: Consolidated fixed pay of Rs. 28,000 per month plus admissible contractual allowances.
- Research Fellow–2: Consolidated fixed pay of Rs. 25,000 per month plus admissible contractual allowances.

Selection Process
- Selection procedure will be as per the orders of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, University of Lucknow.
- Mere fulfilment of minimum eligibility does not entitle a candidate to be called for interview; applications can be cancelled at any stage if found ineligible or if information is concealed/false.
- PRC, University of Lucknow, reserves the right to revise, reschedule, cancel or suspend the recruitment, change number/nature of vacancies, and its decision shall be final.
How to Apply
- Candidates must download and fill the prescribed application form available under the CAREER menu on the University of Lucknow website (and follow PRC/MoHFW guidelines mentioned).
- For Research Investigator (Regular): Application must be accompanied by the prescribed Demand Draft/University Challan in favour of Finance Officer, University of Lucknow, payable at Lucknow, along with photocopies of all relevant documents.
- Completed application with all enclosures must reach the Office of the Director, Population Research Centre, Department of Economics, University of Lucknow, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh–226007 by registered post on or before 30/12/2025.
- Candidates employed in Government/Autonomous Bodies must apply through proper channel and attach a No Objection Certificate with vigilance clearance.
Instructions
- Only matriculation/SSC certificate will be accepted as proof of date of birth, and category certificates (SC/OBC/ST/EWS) must follow U.P. Government rules.
- Applications without requisite documents, fee (where applicable), or received after the prescribed date will not be entertained.
- Concealment or submission of false information will lead to disqualification at any stage and cancellation of candidature.
