NEET MDS Counselling 2026: Freeze and Float Mechanism
This year's bulletin introduces a formal Freeze and Float system for seat acceptance:
- Freeze: If a candidate accepts and locks the allotted seat, they must report physically to the institute to complete admission formalities.
- Float: If a candidate wishes to be considered for a better seat in a subsequent round, they can opt to "float" - in this case, they are not required to report to the currently allotted institute at that stage.
Important Instructions for Candidates
- Carefully verify all personal, academic, and category details before submitting the registration form and choices.
- Registration fees are non-refundable; security deposits are refundable only if MCC's rules on reporting and joining are followed.
- Choices, once locked, cannot be changed for that round.
- Separate registration is required for state quota counselling - this is not managed through the MCC portal.
- Refer only to the official NEET-MDS Counselling Information Bulletin published by MCC for authoritative, round-specific details.
