MPSC Maharashtra Group-C Main Exam 2025 - Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have appeared in and qualified the Group-C Combined Preliminary Examination 2025 (result declared on 04 May 2026). Age is calculated as on 01-02-2026. Minimum age for all candidates is 19 years. Maximum age for General (Open) category is 38 years. Relaxation in upper age limit is as per Maharashtra Government rules for reserved categories.

MPSC Maharashtra Group-C Main Exam 2025 - Application Fee

Fees are non-refundable. Bank charges and taxes are extra and borne by the candidate. Fee can be paid online (credit card, debit card, net banking via any payment gateway available on State Bank portal) or offline via challan at any branch of State Bank of India.

MPSC Maharashtra Group-C Main Exam 2025 - Selection Process

Selection is through a written Main Examination (400 marks, 2 papers) with negative marking. Prelim-qualified candidates who apply for the Main Exam will be considered. Final selection is based on merit in the Main Exam, category-wise, post-wise, combined with preference order (especially for Lipik-Tanklekhak). Document verification follows shortlisting.

Stage 1 - Main Written Examination (Mukhya Pariksha)

The Main Examination consists of 2 papers (total 400 marks). Paper 1: Marathi (50 Qs, 100 marks) and English (50 Qs, 100 marks) - Baaravi / 12th standard level, medium Marathi and English, objective multi-choice, 1 hour. Paper 2: General Studies and Intelligence Test (100 Qs, 200 marks) - Padvi / graduation level, medium Marathi and English, objective multi-choice, 1 hour. Negative marking: 25% (1/4 mark) deducted per wrong answer. If more than one answer is given for a question, it is treated as wrong and 25% marks deducted. If final marks fall below the minimum cut-off after deductions, the candidate's marks are calculated as zero (not negative).

Stage 2 - Merit List and Preference Order (Lipik-Tanklekhak)

For all posts: a General Merit List (Sarvasadharan Gunvatta Yadi) is prepared based on total marks in the Combined Main Exam, post-wise. For Lipik-Tanklekhak: after the General Merit List is published, all candidates on the list must re-submit their Appointing Authority-wise preference order within the stipulated period through the MPSC online portal. If preference order is not submitted within the deadline, it will be treated as if no preference was given. Final Recommendation List is prepared considering the preference orders submitted.

Stage 3 - Document Verification (Pramanpatra Padataalni)

Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification before or after the written exam result, as decided by MPSC. Original documents along with self-attested photocopies must be produced. Only documents claimed in the application will be verified. Documents not produced at verification will not be accepted later and no extension will be given. Candidates failing to appear for verification will be treated as not qualified. Final recommendation/appointment is subject to verification of all original documents by the appointing authority.

Stage 4 - Physical / Medical Examination (Duyyam Nirikshak Only)

Recommended candidates for Duyyam Nirikshak, Rajya Utpadan Shulk post must meet prescribed physical standards and will be medically examined by the government-appointed competent authority before appointment.

Who should NOT apply for MPSC Maharashtra Group-C Main Exam 2025?

  • Candidates who did NOT qualify the Maharashtra Gat-Ka Seva Sanyukt Purv Pariksha – 2025 (result: 04 May 2026); only prelim-qualified candidates can apply for the Main Exam.
  • Candidates who did not appear in the Prelim Exam at all - they are ineligible regardless of qualification.
  • Candidates outside the age band of 19–38 years as on 01-02-2026 (General category), except those with valid age relaxation under SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-servicemen/other notified categories.
  • Candidates who do not have Marathi language knowledge - it is mandatory for all posts.
  • Candidates for Kar Sahayak or Lipik-Tanklekhak who do not have valid Typewriting qualification (Marathi 30 wpm + English 40 wpm + Govt. Commercial Certificate or equivalent) by 04-06-2026.
  • Candidates applying for Duyyam Nirikshak who do not meet the prescribed physical standards (height, chest/weight) or are medically unfit.
  • Candidates who have previously undergone appointment in the same post/organisation and were removed/dismissed for misconduct or other adverse reasons.
  • Candidates who cannot produce original documents at the document verification stage; documents not produced at verification will not be accepted later under any circumstances.
  • Candidates without an Indian Citizenship.

Common mistakes / What to check before applying MPSC Maharashtra Group-C Main Exam 2025?

  • Not checking prelim qualification result (04 May 2026) before applying - only prelim-qualified candidates can proceed; applying without qualifying the prelim will lead to rejection.

Important Instructions for MPSC Maharashtra Group-C Main Exam 2025 Candidates

  • Only candidates who have qualified the Maharashtra Gat-Ka Seva Sanyukt Purv Pariksha – 2025 (result declared 04 May 2026) are eligible to apply for this Main Exam. Non-qualified prelim candidates' applications will not be accepted.
  • All reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/NT/DT/SBC) and other horizontal reservation claims (PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, Sports, Orphan, Project-Affected etc.) must be properly supported by valid documents; category claims cannot be changed after application submission under any circumstances.
  • For Lipik-Tanklekhak post, Appointing Authority-wise preference order must be submitted at the time of application. After merit list is published, candidates will again need to re-confirm preference order within the stipulated window - failure to do so will forfeit their allocation right.
  • Candidates must mandatorily select options (Vikalp) for all posts they wish to be considered for. Posts not selected during application will not be considered, even if the candidate is otherwise eligible.
  • Negative marking applies: 25% (1/4) marks deducted for each wrong answer. Multiple answers to a single question also count as wrong.
  • KYC completion on MPSC portal is mandatory before applying (per order ADR-2425/SIR.06/2025/MA.T., dated 20 June 2025).
  • Application fee is non-refundable. After payment, fee cannot be adjusted for any other exam or selection process.
  • Admit card (Hall Ticket) will be available on MPSC online portal 7 days before the exam. Candidates must download and bring it to the exam.
  • Candidates must bring their own identity proof (Aadhaar / PAN / Passport / Smart Card) to the exam centre. Only original Aadhaar with OTP or colour-printed e-Aadhaar (with photo) is accepted - Aadhaar-based identity proof alone is valid without other documents.
