Stipend rates are as per AVNL Letter No. AVNL/CO/HR/12/T&D/2025-26 dated 30/04/2025. No other allowance is paid during the entire apprenticeship period. Apprentices are entitled to medical treatment from the Ordnance Factory Hospital only, as per rules.
MTPF Trade Apprentice Selection Process
Selection is on the basis of a merit list; there is no written examination or interview. Separate merit lists are prepared for the Non-ITI and Ex-ITI categories.
- Non-ITI: A common merit list is prepared based on the overall percentage of marks scored in Madhyamik/Matriculation (Class X or equivalent), aggregated across all subjects, irrespective of Board. Trades are allotted on a merit-cum-choice basis after selection.
- Ex-ITI: A trade-wise merit list is prepared based on the simple average of the percentage of marks in both Matriculation and ITI (minimum 50% aggregate required in each).
- Based on vacancy position, select lists are prepared; only provisionally selected candidates are called for document verification and medical examination.
- Tie-breaking: Older candidate preferred first; if date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier is preferred; if that year is also the same, the candidate whose name comes first alphabetically is preferred.
Note: MTPF reserves the right to revise the select list at any time in case of an error or oversight; the decision of MTPF/AVNL in this regard is final.
How to Apply for MTPF Trade Apprentice Recruitment 2026
Applications must be submitted offline by post – there is no online application portal for this recruitment.
- Download and fill the application form as per the format at Annexure-I, in CAPITAL LETTERS only.
- Paste a recent passport-size colour photograph and sign the application.
- Enter the 12-digit Aadhaar number (or the first 14 digits of the Aadhaar Enrolment ID if the Aadhaar card has not yet been received).
- Attach attested copies (by a Gazetted Officer or other Competent Authority) of all required certificates listed in the Documents section below.
- Ensure name, father's/mother's name, date of birth, and marks obtained exactly match the Matriculation or equivalent certificate.

Important: Only one application per candidate is accepted, and against one specific trade vacancy only. Multiple applications with differing particulars (name, father's name, community, photo, qualification, etc.) will be summarily rejected at the primary stage. No Transport Allowance is admissible for document verification or medical examination.
Documents Required (Attested Copies)
- Identity Card, in the absence of Aadhaar
- SSC (Matriculation/10th Standard) or equivalent mark sheet
- Certificate for proof of date of birth (10th Standard/Matriculation certificate, mark sheet, or school-leaving certificate indicating DOB)
- Consolidated mark sheet for all semesters of the relevant ITI trade / Provisional National Trade Certificate (for ITI category applicants)
- National Trade Certificate (NCVT) or Provisional National Trade Certificate (NCVT/SCVT), for ITI-pass candidates
- Caste certificate for SC/ST/OBC candidates, wherever applicable; OBC Non-Creamy-Layer certificate issued within the last three years
- Physical Disability certificate for PH/PWD candidates, issued by the competent Medical Board/Authority
- EWS certificate issued by the Tehsildar or District Magistrate, for candidates applying under the EWS category
- Aadhaar Card (original, at the time of document verification)
Important Conditions
- Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PH candidates applies per the schedule under the Apprentices Act 1961, Apprenticeship Rules 1992, and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. PH/PWD vacancies are not separate but included within the total vacancies of each trade.
- Interchange rule: unfilled SC training places may be filled by ST candidates (or vice versa); unfilled OBC places may be filled by non-OBC candidates, if the reserved category is unavailable.
- Mere submission of an application does not guarantee induction as a Trade Apprentice; selection depends on the merit/select list and category-wise vacancy availability.
- Candidature is provisional at all stages, subject to scrutiny of original documents, police verification, and medical examination.
- Selected candidates must execute a Contract of Apprenticeship (by the guardian, if a minor) and register with the respective RDSDE; if registration is not possible, training will be terminated immediately.
- It is not obligatory for MTPF/AVNL to offer employment after training, nor for the apprentice to accept it if offered.
- Premature termination of the Apprenticeship Contract due to the apprentice's failure to fulfil terms may require payment of a bond amount toward the cost of training, as determined by the Apprenticeship Adviser.
- Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate; suppression of facts or forged certificates will lead to rejection/disqualification at any stage.
- MTPF/AVNL's decision on eligibility, acceptance, or rejection of applications is final and binding; no query or correspondence will be entertained.
